Cannes is out for Ash, Hrithik

The Jodha Akbar team comprising Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Gowarikar will not be attending the Cannes Film Festival this year.

Although the team was to attend the film festival to showcase Jodha Akbar's first look, the stars have decided not to attend the event as they will be too busy shooting for the film in India. Even Aishwarya, who has regularly been at the film festival for the last four years, will not make it for the grand event.

Both Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya will be completing the film's shoot as director Ashutosh wants to wrap up the film before monsoons ruin the expensive sets that have been erected at Karjat.

Ashutosh Gowarikar says, "I have no plans as such to attend the promotional campaign of Jodha Akbar. I know that it will help the film, but we need to finish our shoot first. Hrithik and I are not going to attend the festival because we need to wrap up the shoot before monsoons. Ash was supposed to attend the event, but she also will be with us in Karjat. I can't afford to waste a single day."

It was initially reported that Ash would be walking the red carpet with her husband Abhishek Bachchan and pa-in-law Amitabh.

Amitabh Bachchan will be attending Cannes Film Festival, but he will be there to promote his films Cheeni Kum and Eklavya.
