Akshay Kumar to take over Hrithik?

After Hrithik Roshan decided to turn down Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s offer for forthcoming movie Delhi 6, rumours have it that Akshay Kumar will step up to play the lead.

The casting of Delhi 6 has been a rollercoaster ride for director Mehra, who is currently promoting his film Rang De Basanti at the Oscars. At first, Abhishek Bachchan was said to be playing the lead. However, he was replaced by Hrithik Roshan. And now, the brawny actor is also said to have walked out of the movie. It is speculated that Hrithik had a problem with the dates, as he is also shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar. Rakeysh wants to start shooting for the film as soon as he returns from the Oscars. But Hrithik has already given commitments to debutante Zoya Akhtar for his film Kismat Talkies.

Akshay Kumar, who is currently shooting in Sydney, made no comments on taking up the lead role in Delhi 6. Only time will tell who will fill Hrithik’s shoes for Rakeysh’s directorial venture.
