The first leg of the tour will take the Bachchans, to Europe and North America, over July and August.
They will then travel elsewhere, covering 25 cities in all.
Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar - who were star attractions in the original line-up - have opted out because they had no dates to offer.
Instead, the Bachchans now have Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta and Ritesh Deshmukh - among their entertainers - for the tour.
An excited Ash said, "It's always wonderful to be on stage with Abhishek and Pa (the Big B).
I remember what fun it was, when we did Kajra Re for an awards function, two years ago. That one act, was a fantastic rock concert by itself. Now going on stage as Amitji's daughter-in-law and Abhishek's wife, will be doubly fantastic!
We really do have a good time. I've watched Pa's earlier concerts, he rivets the audience, while Abhishek has a blast. All three of us love live shows, because we genuinely enjoy music and dance. So the world tour is going to be a grand party, on stage!"
The story is simple: Raj Kapoor is Sunder and Rajendra Kumar is Gopal, friends who fall in love with the same woman, Radha, played by the lovely Vyajayanthimala.
Raj Kapoor's Sangam was a 1964 blockbuster, one that continues to make compelling viewing.
Yet now - in the most unlikely of adaptations - it has been made into a stage musical in Israel, performed by the local Indian residents there!
The story remains essentially the same - with a screen providing Hebrew subtitles - even as the tragic story meets giggles in the audience, as they see their friends and neighbors flounder with Bollywood dialogues, in their accent.
Forty-four years after it was made, Sangam is still winning over audiences and celebrating India!
Now, according to the latest gossip doing the rounds in B-Town, there is a strong possibility of Hollywood star Jean Claude Van Damme's daughter starring in the film, in a crucial role!
"Yes she is here, but I wouldn't want to talk about it. She is a big man's daughter. Things arent' finalized yet," says director Anil Sharma.
Sharma isn't willing to disclose anything about the film, except that, it's a period film based in 1800 and Salman has been working hard on his physique.
It seems, he has to enhance his frame by one and a half times since he is playing a warrior, in the film.
Van Damme sports a ferocious physique, and is known world over, for his international action packed films like Bloodsport, Universal Soldier, Double Impact etc.
He has two sons and one daughter born in 1990 named Bianca from body builder, Gladys Portugues.
Considering both her parents are in physical sport, she must be a tough gal as well!
Vaibhavi's family is quite excited about the marriage, and wedding preparations are on in full swing.
Sanjay and Vaibhavi have been working together for several years, with Vaibhavi choreographing for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas and Saawariya.
But it's only recently that the two have been linked, romantically.
In the last couple of months, the couple - quite reclusive otherwise - have been seen together publicly and Vaibhavi's closeness to Bhansali's family was made obvious, at the premiere of his film, Saawariya.
Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan gave birth to triplets, at a Mumbai hospital on Monday.
Farah - who directed the blockbuster hits - Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007) - and choreographed song-and-dance sequences in over 70 films - is married to film editor Shirish Kunder.
"She has given birth to one boy and two girls this morning and the kiddos are very healthy!" Firuza Parikh, a doctor at Mumbai's Jaslok hospital, told the media.
Everyone is on a remake spree and the latest one to join the bandwagon is Onir - of My Brother Nikhil fame - who will be adapting the classic movie, Chashme Buddoor, directed by Sai Paranjape, starring Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval,Rakesh Bedi, Ravi Baswani and Saeed Jaffrey.
"Though we have bought over the rights, it won't be a remake, but it will be an adaptation of the earlier film," reveals Onir.
And will he be repeating any of the old star cast?
"No, we will have a new star cast for the new film," he says. Let's hope, it doesn't turn up like Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag!
Here's a quick look on some other remakes/sequels, which are in the pipeline:
First they are spotted together, hand in hand, then they vehemently deny there's romance brewing, and finally they tie the knot in either a very private ceremony, or in a mega affair!
Real life romances in Bollywood are a far cry from their on-screen versions, in which, the lovers proclaim their love in the loudest fashion.
Personal questions are always fielded with cliches like 'We're just friends' and most actors dismiss them with a 'no comments'. Some B-town stars refuse to define their relationship, even after years of courtship!
Bollywood Buzz brings you an insight on Relationships in Bollywood:
#Manoj Bajpai also kept his affair - with long-term girlfriend Neha - under wraps, before marrying her in February 2005, without the media's knowledge.
So, why are celebrity affairs always closeted?
Says Manoj, "I'm an actor, not a public figure. My wife and personal life aren't supposed to entertain the public. Constitutionally, I'm allowed to safeguard my personal life, hence I've never discussed its details. Besides, I've never been the subject of rumours. We get sick of the rumours surrounding us and sometimes it clouds our judgement of co-actors."
Actors become especially guarded about their personal life in case of talk about extra-marital affairs, or even in the initial stage of a budding romance.
Reports about extra marital affairs, in particular, result in uncomfortable situations at home, say stars.
#Twinkle Khanna - whose hubby Akshay Kumar has been linked with co-stars like Priyanka Chopra, post-marriage - says, "I neither hid my relationship nor flaunted it. We don't react to reports, since, I've seen my parents being written about it and know how to deal with it. People shouldn't take advantage of our silence."
# On again-off again romances like Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan's take up column space, and is never acknowledged by either party. It's probably because the lovebirds - mostly on the rebound - aren't sure about the strength of their relationship.
Sometimes, affairs are not acknowledged because of parental pressure! #Ranbir Kapoornever accepted his affair with Deepika Padukone in the press, because his parents weren't comfortable with it.
The 'home-breaker' tag attached to actresses also makes them clam up. For eg.:
While nursing a broken heart or dealing with a divorce, they'd rather not be written about, say actors.
#Priyanshu Chatterjee - who divorced model Malini Sharma in 2001 - says, "It's difficult to get over someone, when your break-up is constantly being discussed in the media. That's when celebs avoid the media. In my case, not much was written about my divorce. So it was slightly relaxed. But some reports - surrounding relationships - change the way, you are viewed in your professional life."
Yet a handful of couples have been transparent - about their relationships - right from the word go!
#Arshad Warsi - Maria Goretti
#Arbaaz Khan - Malaika Arora
#Zayed Khan - Malaika Khan
#Hrithik Roshan - Sussane Khan
#Ashish Chaudhary - Samita Bangargi
Reason?
They feel shielding their relationship - from the media - will trigger more speculation, about their personal lives.
Says Samita, "Single status matters a lot to some actors. They want their fans to believe, that they're single. But Ashish and I have been open about our relationships - ever since we started dating eight years ago - because people like you for your work, and not for your relationship status."
On a personal note: I've been in a relationship before, however, that didn't worked out.
And now, I don't care about getting in a relationship anymore (or to marry anyone for that matter!), because of so many reasons, which I would've love to share with you all, however - this being a Bollywood News blog - I would skip my personal blah blah!
They sizzled the screen back in the 70s with their blockbuster film, Bobby.
And now - decades later - Dimple Kapadia and Rishi Kapoor are back together to recreate the same magic with their latest venture, Luck by Chance.
While they tried and failed, to get the chemistry right - in the 2005 film Pyar Mein Twist - the duo seem to have decided that three times is a charm, and so, they are coming together - for the third time - in Luck by Chance.
The death of the 28-year old Australian superstar Heath Ledger has had severe repercussions on the entertainment industry, particularly on Shekhar Kapur who was apparently the last person to speak to Heath, before the actor's tragically premature death.
"That's what I gather. I believe I'm the last person Heath spoke to that night before his death. And the press in New York got to know of this. The press out there started to hound me.
My phone wouldn't stop ringing in New York. I had to cut short my visit and return to Mumbai," said Shekhar on Monday morning, hours after he landed up.
But he expressed an inability to meet and suggested we fix up another time the next morning. But in the morning he was gone! Such is life!" sighs the filmmaker just back in Mumbai and getting ready to direct his new film, this time set in Shekhar's favourite city, Mumbai.
The futuristic look at Mumbai - entitled Paani - will probably be the most expensive film, Shekhar will produce.
"It'd require a creation of a whole city with two levels, one for the super-rich and the other for the underprivileged."
The cast is now being seriously looked at and Shekhar is most probably collaborating with UTV Motion Pictures for this venture.
Priyanka Chopra: "My favorite patriotic song will have to be Mile Sur Tera Hamara. Every time I would see all the stalwarts of the country from Lataji to Pandit Ravi Shankar to Shabana Azmi, come together on television to sing that song, I would get goose bumps. In fact, I get that 'goosebumpy' feeling even now I speak to you about that song. My favorite national figure is Rajiv Gandhi. He was a lovely man and a truly remarkable visionary. He dreamt of taking India into the new millennium but couldn't live to see that dream come true. Believe me; we haven't even realized ten percent of our full potential as yet."

Dino Morea: "Favorite patriotic film and song is Border and A R Rahman's Ma Tujhe Salaam. Favorite national figure? Ummmm. Subhash Chandra Bose. Don't ask me why."

The national figure who evokes a deep sense of patriotism in me is Mahatma Gandhi."

If you have watched Kundun Shah's 1983 classic, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, you probably loved it. But there are quite a few who haven't watched the laugh riot black comedy yet.
Now, according to the latest buzz going around in B-Town, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro team is coming together to remake it!
Naseeruddin Shah & Om Puri has been signed on already, and now, the process of wooing Ravi Vaswani - as well as the rest of the original cast - is on.
Kundun Shah will direct the new film as well and Sajid Nadiadwala would produce the sequel.
Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro originally starred Naseer, Vaswani, Satish Shah, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Neena Gupta, Satish Kaushik and the late actress Bhakti Barve.

Popular UK rapper-singer Hard Kaur is all set to showcase her life in the form of a film, which will be made by her die-hard fan, Aditya Bhattacharya (son of filmmaker Basu Bhattacharya).
After making an indelible mark in singing career, she now will be making her debut in Bollywood.
Aditya informed that it was the singer's real life journey - from the Sikh riots, when she was just 10 - to the rock star status, which inspired him to make a film on her.
Busy with the release of her new album Supawoman on SaReGaMa India, Hard Kaur seemed very excited about the new turn that her career has taken in Bollywood.
She states that acting as herself would be a cakewalk, and jokes that, she will now be seen singing and dancing in sarees.
Aditya is currently busy scripting the film, which will go on the floors this year.
Here's one of her songs which featured in Sriram Raghavan's Johnny Gaddaar.
Aamir shared the Best Director award for the film with Shimit Amin for Chak De! India starring Shah Rukh Khan. He additionally won awards for Best Supporting Actor and for Best Dialogues.
The three other awards won by Aamir's film were:

Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Eklavya -The Royal Guard, which was India's official entry to the Oscars this year, is out of the race from the Best Foreign Language Films category.
For starters, the Amitabh Bachchan-Sanjay Dutt-Saif Ali Khan starrer Eklavya was mired in controversy, ever since it was declared as India's entry to the prestigious Oscars.
So much so that director Bhavna Talwar, who considered her film - Dharm - as one of the better contenders for the award, went on to claim that the jury was biased in its selection.
She even went up to the extent of going to the court regarding the issue.
Seems like India will have to wait for a while, to bring home this prestigious award.
There are some films for which there are attempts to pull them down even before their theatrical release.
Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, which arrived in November last year, was one such film for which there wasn't much positive written about throughout it's making or promotion, leading to it's release.
However, the film did find good audience for itself, and turned out to be a decent earner for UTV.
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is now entering its 8th week and in the process would be completing a 50 day run tomorrow.
In its 50 day run, the film has made close to Rs.17 crores just from Indian box office, which is over and above 16 crores that UTV had made on the table, through brand endorsements even before the film hit the marquee!
Bollywood's Mr. Block-buster Sajid Nadiadwala is a man on a mission these days.
He has shrewd business acumen, as gauged from the fact that he has been churning block-blusters consistently. His last block buster being the mega successful Heyy Babyy, directed by debutant Sajid Khan.
Apparently the producer has a few surprises up his sleeve. From what we hear from an industry source, Nadiadwala is all set to go international with his next project, Kambakth Ishq.
And, Sajid has managed a casting coup in Kambakth Ishq.
Apparently, Arnold Schwarzenegger has agreed to play an interesting cameo in the film!
And, pop sensation Beyonce is also set to do a bootylicious act in the film!
Akshay plays a Hollywood stuntman in the film.
For the first time in Indian Cinema, our desi action hero will be seen with an international action icon, Arnold Schwarzenegger! Beyonce too is reportedly doing a sizzling act in the film.
Prashant Shah (line producer of Kambakth Ishq) says from LA, "Yes, we are in talks.
So far, we have had Deepa Mehta, who is a Canadian, Meera Nair and Gurinder Chadha who have been Indians of International origin making a splash in Hollywood.
But with Kambakth Ishq, it will be the first time, that an Indian producer will be doing this. It is only Sajid who has made this happen.
We are yet to work out the logistics. Things will be confirmed shortly, and we will be making a formal announcement, when that happens. We are also looking at other Hollywood names to join the cast of Kambakth Ishq."
Says Sajid Nadiadwala, "Yes, we shall be making a formal announcement very soon. I cannot reveal any further details. As our Indian film industry is making its presence felt and going global, I would like my banner - Nadiadwala Grandson - to scale the global level in film making too."
It will be India's first Apple authorized training centre, where professors and musicians from India and abroad, will provide training and education to students in Indian and Western classical music.
The institute, located in Chennai, will also help in fine-tuning the skills of students who play instruments like flute, trumpet, violin, French horn and percussion.
Needless to say, there will be more career options open for these young talented kids, once they combine their musical skill with the latest knowledge in production technology.
Through this institute, Rahman would also fulfill his vision of having a full-fledged orchestra in India so that Indian composers don't have to go abroad when they have to record with orchestras.
Must say, this initiative by Rahman is indeed one unique way of giving back something to the world of music!
