Madhuri Dixit on Verve's cover

What if the Almighty gave you a wish that you can actually touch beauty, oomph, poise, grace and divinity?

Well, with the Christmas and New Year seasons just gone by, we presume that all the networks leading to the Almighty must be heavily choked up!

But hey! Just do not lose hope. Because, for all you folks, here is an answer to all your prayers and believe us, it's just not an illusion!

The latest issue of Verve has just managed to get a 'personified version' of beauty, poise, grace and divinity on its cover!

People better know her as the one and only, Madhuri Dixit, Bollywood's evergreen gift to the 'Diva Land'!

The contents of the magazine (about Madame M, of course) are nothing short of any Biblical words!

It speaks about her comeback film Aaja Nachle, her journey in Bollywood, her two sons Arin and Ryan, and her daily brush with fame and recognition, whilst in Denver!

Overall, this issue is a slap on the saying that 'Beauty and graciousness cannot be touched or bought!'

Mesmerising Madhuri turns 40

Madhuri Dixit - Bollywood’s dhak dhak girl, who made the nation sway with her impeccable dance moves in numerous chartbusters, turns 40 today.

And what better way to celebrate her 40th birthday than by making a comeback in Yashraj Films' Aaja Nachle. The film, which will hit the silver screen in November this year, is a musical where Madhuri will be seen doing what she does best - dancing!

Madhuri set the screen on fire with her pulsating dance numbers and backed it up by some inspired acting performances to delight the audience in the late eighties and early nineties. Although picking Madhuri’s 5 best numbers is a contentious job, we have picked the ones that made her the star that she is.

Ek do teen (Tezaab)
The 1988 film proved to be a milestone in Madhuri’s career as she had given many flop films before Tezaab. And when Madhuri grooved to the beats of Ek Do Teen, the nation swayed along. Madhuri Dixit had arrived and the country knew it!

Dhak dhak karne laga (Beta)
Many hearts went Dhak Dhak collectively when Madhuri danced to the song Dhak dhak karne laga from the 1993 hit Beta.

Choli ke peeche kya hai (Khalnayak)
Arguably Madhuri’s best dance song to date, Choli ke peeche kya hai became a rage in 1993, with people of all age dancing to its beats.

Didi tera devar deewana (Hum aapke hain kaun)
This song is another cult song of Madhuri that ruled the music charts for more than a year back in 1994.

Maar daala (Devdas)
Devdas, which was Madhuri’s first film after her marriage, saw Madhuri in an unbeatable mode. And when she swayed to the beats of Maar daala, her fans swayed along!

Madhuri's musings on her art quotient

DANCING DIVA: Madhuri Dixit says that dance will always be her favourite art form.
Actress Madhuri Dixit was artist M F Husain's muse so it's no surprise that CNN-IBN correspondent Urmi Sahni spotted her at an art exhibition in Mumbai.

This time it was the paintings by an upcoming artist Purnendu Mandal, which caught her attention. So here's Madhuri on her art quotient.

CNN-IBN: You have been an inspiration for art since long. Have you also been fond of art in particular?

Madhuri Dixit: I used to sketch as a child. I like art in general whether it is movies, painting or dancing. I am totally into arts.

CNN-IBN: Which is the art form that is closest to your heart?

Madhuri Dixit: Of course dancing is the closest to my heart. It’s always been and always will be.

CNN-IBN: Everyone is eagerly waiting for your film Aaja Nach Le. So, is there a lot of dancing in this film?

Madhuri Dixit: Well, all I can say at this moment is you all must come a watch the movie.

CNN-IBN: How is it being Mrs Nene? How do you manage to have a career in India with your husband and children in the US?

Madhuri Dixit: Well, it’s not easy. It’s a balancing act and I think I have been doing it pretty good so far. My husband has always been with me and supported me. I wouldn’t have done this had I not have his support. So, in that sense also there is a sense of achieving something and being appreciated for all that I have done. So far the going has been good.

Madhuri can act while Chopras take care of her kids

Madhuri Dixit Nene, the timeless diva of Bollywood is making a comeback after many years. She is in Mumbai shooting for Anil Mehta’s Aaja Naachley. On the first day of her shoot at Yashraj Studios, Yash Chopra welcomed her personally.

Madhuri was doing an interactive scene with her co-stars in the movie but refused to divulge much about her part. She had come to the sets with her two little sons. Yashji, as they fondly call him, made all necessary arrangements for them. When Madhuri reached the sets at around 6:30 p.m. she saw that a special playing area had been arranged for her kids, so that they can be comfortable when their mother is shooting during the day. Since she has never really been away from her kids since the time she became a mother, Yashji comforted her saying that she can act, while they take care of her kids. The actress shot all through the night and got home only in the wee hours of the morning. However, she claimed that the first day of her shoot was indeed very memorable.

An elated Madhuri said that she was touched to see how Yashji personally came in to greet her! Reportedly, the lucky guy who has been cast opposite the lovely actress is Akshaye Khanna. The duo earlier came together in the forgettable film Mohobbat (1997). Aaja Naachley also stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Kunal Kapoor.

Madhuri makes Mumbai go dhak dhak…

Madhuri de do Kashmir le lo’….This was a famous statement made by Pakistan establishment a few years ago. That was the phase when Dixit babe was at the prime of her career with films like ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ breaking all records. Her last film was ‘Devdas’ where she went ‘Maar Daala’ while the cine going public elicited a collective sigh of wonder. After a five year hiatus Madhuri is back in Mumbai with work on her mind. And the city is glowing with that high energy smile. Once again.

Even the cable tv is showing her films. I caught up with parts of ‘Saajan’ recently. And I must say, she simply blows you with her blistering performance and that magnanimous smile.

Madhuri to release Marathi actors' biographies

Madhuri Dixit Nene is thrilled to be a part of the Marathi social circuit once again. Today the gorgeous Bollywood diva will release a compilation of 125 biographies of Marathi cinema actors.

The US-based actress is back in India to shoot for Yash Chopra’s next venture. Titled Marathi Taaraka, the collection has been produced and edited by reputed Marathi filmmaker and social activist Mahesh Tilekar. A few months ago, actor Amrita Rao had launched Tilekar’s website based on the same Marathi actors. Pritish Nandy was also invited to the launch of this website.

She was so impressed with Tilekar’s work that she decided to be a part of the inaugural celebration. Madhuri, being a Maharashtrian herself, has always been a big fan of Marathi songs and music. Apparently, she was honoured to be a part of the book launch because Marathi cinema is now celebrating 75 years.

Big B - Madhuri in 'Pathjhad'?

Years ago, Big B and Madhuri Dixit featured in a song together in BADE MIYA CHOTE MIYAN. Later, Indra Kumar cast the two actors in Bachchan’s home-production RISHTA, which was shelved subsequently. Not too long back, LEELA director Somnath Sen cast Big B and Madhuri in his new venture, which, again, couldn’t take off since the actress was pregnant with her second child.

Now, there’s a possibility that the two actors will feature in a film together…
http://www.10ka20.com/img/madhuri-dixit-2.jpg Ravi Chopra is toying with the idea of casting Madhuri opposite Bachchan in his new film, titled PATHJHAD. “I think, they’ll look good together. I am in the process of speaking to Madhuri. It’s either Madhuri or Hema-ji,” Chopra tells me. What’s PATHJHAD all about? “The man’s a divorcee and the woman a widow. It’s their love story,” he enlightens.
