According to the latest buzz doing the rounds in the B-town, Rohit Jugraj - who started his career by assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali and then directed the fiasco actioner - James - for Ram Gopal Varma - has been approached by Abbas-Mustan to produce his take on Charlie's Angels.
The film is expected to star Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra as the three sexy 'angels' played originally by Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.
Rohit says, "Yes, I'm directing a film for Abbas-Mustan and it's the Charlie's Angels styled girls' action flick.
I'm going to say neither yes nor no to the three names mentioned in the lead. All I'll say at this stage is that, my producers Abbas-Mustan are very influential and they've worked with the who's who of the industry. For them getting my wish list of actors won't be a problem!"
Ex Ms World Priyanka Chopra has taken one step further to her stardom.
The beauty queen-turned actress will be joining the elite list of international celebrity figures like Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn Monroe with her recent appointment as the brand ambassador of hair care brand, Sunsilk.
Sunsilk hopes to inspire women around the world, to take a step forward and live life to the fullest, with the debut of their massive Life Can't Wait Campaign.
The Sunsilk Life Can't Wait Campaign features three of the world's most iconographic figures - Madonna, Shakira, and Marilyn Monroe internationally, and now Priyanka Chopra in India - all of whom symbolize the power of expression and making life happen.
So what does Queen of Pop, Madonna - while speaking on the Life Can't Wait theme - has to say?
"Every Sunsilk brand ambassador, including Priyanka Chopra, stands for freedom of expression; doing what she believes in; and going after her dreams. I am my own experiment. I am my own work of art. If you are going to reveal yourself, reveal yourself. I have the same goal I've had ever since I was a girl. I want to rule the world and so does every Sunsilk brand ambassador."
And, what does Latino dancer Shakira have to say, about Priyanka's Life Can't Wait moment?
"Priyanka Chopra is experiencing a typical Life Can't Wait moment, which is a time when you seize an opportunity and live for today. Every Sunsilk brand ambassador is a living embodiment of the belief that, in order to catch up with life's pace, you need to be ready to seize every opportunity that comes your way…else you will be somewhere invisible in the crowd of people, who just dream big but don't make an attempt, to realise their dreams and transform them into a living reality."
Talking about her 'co-stars', Priyanka avers, "The legendary Marilyn Monroe is my favourite icon. I have read her biographies and feel that she has this enigmatic, mysterious and unattainable aura around her.
Madonna and Shakira have not taken their success for granted.
They have shown the willingness to innovate, and reinvent to make themselves relevant, to every age and generation. They are immortal and my dream in life is to be remembered for my professional greatness, long after I am gone."
"All the credit must go to my stylist Rita Dhody and my dress designer Narendra Kumar who are styling my look in Fashion. They make an extremely talented team. It's very important to get the right look for every character. The mantra for 2008 is style. And I plan to experiment lavishly with my look."
Fashion is going to give Priyanka a startling look. "I start as a plain small-towner and then go ultra-chic as a model."
2007 was a year of turmoil for Priyanka. There were legal and police hassles regarding financial endeavours. At home her dad struggled with a serious illness.
Sighs Priyanka, "There were other problems created by various people. I've accepted those as an inevitable part of each year. The more popular you get the more the number of people who want to target you. That's fine. It's a professional hazard. You've got to take it in your stride. But the best happening of the year was dad coming home from hospital hopefully whole and healed.
On the professional front I had Salaam-e-Ishq at the beginning of the year and Big Brother later, both box office disappointments. But I'm going to make up in 2008 with four to five releases beginning with the comedy God Tussi Great Ho with Salman."
Salman and Priyanka seem to have made up.
"When were we ever at loggerheads?" she blinks diplomatically. "In 2007 I completed two mega-marathons Drona and Love Story 2050. These two films took up a lot of time. The shooting for these films took extra time because of the special effects. I also hurt myself while shooting for Drona."
Speaking of hurt, Kareena Kapoor lately made a statement about Priyanka not being worthy of being called an actress.
"Kareena is a more senior and hopefully more mature actress than me. I guess she's qualified to comment on my calibre. When I reach her level of experience maybe I too can comment on the calibre of my contemporaries and juniors. I'd just like to let my work speak for me. And that includes Aitraaz where Kareena was also a part."
What's the problem between Priyanka and Kareena anyway?
"I don't know. From my end there's none. I recently met her at a Diwali cards party. And she was fine with me. Only she can answer why she thinks so poorly of me. As far as I'm concerned I think she was splendid in Jab We Met. I like to give credit where it's due. And you know what? On some level it's flattering when colleagues give you importance."
Priyanka gets introspective: "I love my work. I love my friends who are loyal to me. Nothing and no one else matters. I've already had enough to stress at home with my father's illness. I'd like only positive energy to be spread through my work."
Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra is being paid the ultimate compliment. A comic book character has now been developed based on the hot star.
Indian audiences will soon get to see Priyanka Chopra as an animated superhero with Virgin Comics set to release to range of comic books, animation and games featuring the sensational star.
"The potential for this is huge and in India right now there is lack of great female super hero characters. She is as an aspirational figure someone both females and people of all ages can look upto I think this Priyanka has served in real life and now we take her to the fictional world it is going to be even better," said Sharad Devarajan, CEO, Virgin Comics.
And being an all-action babe comes only naturally to Priyanka Chopra whose onscreen characters have always held their own in the stunts department.
"It was great fun, you have never seen a girl play such kind of a charater like this before," said Priyanka.
Priyanka stars as an adopted girl and the latest in a line of princesses with great mystical power and a sworn duty to destroy evil wherever it lurks. The series is set to launch in 2008.
The character based on Priyanka Chopra is not Virgin Comics' first tryst with Indian animation.
The group also has a series based on the Ramayana as well as several other comics with ideas developed by author Deepak Chopra and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.
Bollywood actresses are really proving their mettle these days.
Close on the heels of Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu bagging Sir Ben Kingsley's film based on the Taj Mahal, it's now the turn of Priyanka Chopra to steal the limelight. Now, Piggy Chops is all set to sizzle the fashion world by bagging the lead role in two time national award winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar's film Fashion.
The film is set to go on floors by December end. Madhur will be shooting parts of the film in the fashion capital of the world Paris and Milan.
If this isn't enough, for the grand finale, Priyanka will walk the ramp in the centre flanked by, hold on... well none other than international supermodels Tyra Banks and Kate Moss!
"It can't get bigger than this. With Fashion, Indian films will go global in a big way. This is larger than life, we are in talks with other international and Indian top models and likely to close the deal soon." says the associate producer of the film Ram Mirchandani.
Priyanka Chopra is elated to have bagged Madhur's film.
"Madhur and I have been looking for the right opportunity to work together and I am quite happy that our first association will be with a film like Fashion."
Priyanka Chopra is being considered to play the female lead in Hollywood producer and former tennis player Ashok Amritraj 's film.
Ashok Amritraj heads the production company Hyde Park Entertainment. He is presently looking for an Indian actress for his next project, which will revolve around an Indian girl and an American man.
Amritraj has reportedly been in talks with Priyanka Chopra to act in the film. Rumours say he has handed over the film's script to Priyanka.
The only problem is, Amritraj wants to begin shooting his film in October this year and this may act as a bummer because Priyanka is most likely to be busy during that time of the year due to her prior commitments.
So, however clichéd it may sound but date problems may prevent Priyanka from doing Amritraj's film.
But it would be premature to jump to conclusions as Priyanka is said to be going through the film's script and has yet to give her final word.
Former Miss WorldPriyanka Chopra is all set to play a supermodel in a film that dwells on the darker side of a career in modeling.
The film will be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar who has so far done critically acclaimed films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Corporate and Traffic Signal .
Before becoming Miss India World and later becoming Miss World 2000, Priyanka had walked the ramp as a model and that made her a great choice for Bhandarkar's project.
The film titled, Fashion Show: The Ugly Side of Beautiful People , is being bankrolled by UTV with whom Priyanka recently signed a three-film contract. Bhandarkar will be venturing into the big league with this movie, which is budgeted at Rs 20 crore.
Rohit Bal has been signed up as the fashion consultant for the film and will also make a special appearance in the film.
Priyanka's rise to stardom has been steady and continuous every since she won the Miss World Crown in year 2000 and began her Bollywood career in 2003 with the romantic action thriller The Hero .
Priyanka has not even once thrown a birthday party ever since she stepped in tinsel town. This was partly because of her shy and reserved nature and partly because of the poor health of her father, Ashok Chopra.
But this year, Priyanka plans to celebrate her birthday.
Firstly, her father's health has recovered, and secondly, she had a wonderful year 2006 career-wise. She had a huge hit in Krrish and a relatively successful Don with Shah Rukh Khan.
In the near future, Priyanka will be seen acting in some big projects like Drona, Love Story 2050 and God Tussi Great Ho .

UTV has signed Priyanka Chopra for a three film non-exclusive deal that will span over 4 years. A key aspect of the partnership will be her active involvement in the creative areas of the films.
This landmark deal is a one-of-its-kind for a leading lady in Bollywood and marks a significant move by UTV to drive the corporatisation of the movie business. The association with UTV cements Priyanka's leadership position in the film industry today. As per the details of the 3-film association, Priyanka will be involved in the creative brainstorming process of the films including the shortlisting of scripts and genres.
Announcing the deal, Mr. Ram Mirchandani, Senior VP-Creative and Projects, UTV Motion Pictures said, "We are very proud to be associated with Priyanka. Her achievements, in a relatively short span of time, are remarkable. Priyanka is today recognized as one of the most 'bankable' stars that we have. Priyanka Chopra is equally excited and says, "The basis of our relationship is that of mutual respect and creativity. This association presents an amazing opportunity for me to work in a challenging, creative environment with some of the best minds in the industry. The non exclusivity of the deal implies that Priyanka can also sign films outside the UTV banner but has to do at least 3 films with UTV in a span of 4 years.
Choreographer turned director Saroj Khan is all set to make her first Hindi film.
Her film is titled as Sati...a burning desire to love. The film stars one of the leading ladies of Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra as a main protagonist. The other star cast of the film is yet to be finalized.
However, there was a speculation that the movie will star her favourite actress Madhuri Dixit. But now Saroj Khan has cleared all speculation that Sati is not meant for Madhuri rather she does not deserve the role.
Saroj Khan made her directorial debut with a Bhojpuri film called Dil Diwana Tohar Gayil. Sati will be her second film as a director. The film's script has been written by Makrand Deshpande.
The film is slated to go on floor later in the year.
Priyanka Chopra, already Bollywood's hottest property, has been convinced to step outside the shower and lend her raw, beautiful voice for an ad jingle featuring a soap for which she is the new brand ambassadress.
She was first heard, and made an impression, in just one line, when she sang Right here Right now for the song by the same title in Bluffmaster.
Then she impressed the audiences when she went on Shah Rukh Khan's KBC 3 finale in April and gave an impromptu rendition of Yeh Mera Dil from the film Don in which she and SRK starred together.
Of the jingle she is going to sing for the soap ad, Priyanka said, "It's an interesting concept and it didn't take much to convince me, as I love singing. But, more than singing, it's a kind of melodious narration of a poem, with musical background. It's quite sweet and lovely."
So is she going to be the new emerging singing talent of Bollywood? And would she pursue singing if she got the right break? Priyanka laughed, "It's not like I am going to replace Alka Yagnik. But why not? I am passionate about singing. And what's the harm in pursuing it ? If something good comes my way, I shall do it!"
After enthralling viewers across the country with Fifty Two entertaining episodes of quizzing, the time has come for season one of Kaun Banega Crorepatiwith SRK to bid adieu. But not just like that! The Badshah of Bollywood in his trademark style is all set to entertain viewers with an exciting, one of a kind, fun-filled episode of KBC. The grand finale episode of KBC will see the leading ladies of the silver screen Kareena Kapoor with Priyanka Chopra and the hottest pair of tinsel town, Salman Khan with Katrina Kaif when they come together on television for the first time ever on a game show.
After the movie Don, this is SRK's first tryst with Kareena and Priyanka together. Priyanka Chopra on her experience in KBC said, "KBC was a fantastic experience and I enjoyed myself to the hilt. Sitting across Shahrukh can be quite nerve wrecking, but he completely put me at ease. In fact he was completely driven up the wall because Kareena and I would keep debating which answer to opt for and always came up with different options. The fun was complete with Salman and Katrina on the show, where all of us did the last segment together."
If word is to believed then Salman will leave the audiences rolling in splits of laughter with his wit and wacky humor. The episode also has Priyanka exercising her vocal chords and belting out melodies that will leave audiences speechless.
Kareena will donate her prize money to St. Anthony's Old Age Home and Mount Mary's Bandra, and Priyanka will contribute her prize money to Nari and the Utkal Bipanaa Sahayata Samiti. Katrina will donate her prize-money to the Kovalam Charitable Trust and Salman will donate his money for his soon to be openedSalman Khan Foundation.
