Govinda plays a virgin in Jagmohan Mundhra's next movie

The actor who has been happily married for many years would certainly have difficulties in playing the role of a man who has never had sex!

Govinda is ready to play an unusual role - that of a 40-year-old virgin man in director Jagmohan Mundhra's next film.

Mundhra, who has so far dealt with serious issues in his films like Bawandar, Provoked and the upcoming Shoot On Sight, is looking forward to venture into comedy with his next film, which is believed to be based on Hollywood comedy The Forty Year Old Virgin.

The movie will have Govinda playing a nerd who keeps homebound, watching television or playing video games. But then, his friends find out that he is still a virgin and resolve to help him get some sex. What follows is a series of humorous situations.

Mundhra is reportedly planning to buy the remake rights of the Hollywood movie from which the film is inspired.

# Update - He is not doing the movie.

Govinda is gung-ho after a hit

Govinda is down with an acute attack of exhaustion, all thanks to his new film Chal Chala Chal which he has been shooting non-stop for the last two months.

"It's the fastest film in my entire career of 20 years. Unfortunately the non-stop shooting has taken its toll on my health. I was constantly traveling between Mumbai and Pune. I've now requested the director to complete the film in Mumbai. It was very tiring. I've been down with a series of ailments. Now I'm just resting for a bit. I can afford to do, now that my comeback film Bhagam Bhag is a hit."

Recently actor, MP Govinda celebrated his 42nd birthday. "To my delight I got as many as 70 SMS within hours. My wife Sunita and children hosted a party for me. We invited all my colleagues and production team with whom I've been working in the past few months, including of course the whole Bhagam Bhag team."

Govinda's Bhagam Bhag co-star Akshay Kumar was conspicuous by his absence. "I don't know why… I think he wasn't in the country," Govinda ends lamely. And adds, "I'm just so grateful to Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan to doing films with me."

Is Govinda's 17-year old daughter going to be an actress? "Both my children Narmada and Yash have full freedom to do what they want to do with their lives. I'm there to support them in every way possible. Right now my daughter is off to London for one year for a course in jewellery designing."

The father's lonely heart is already wondering. "I'll go and see her every month in London, my schedules permitting. Of course I'm going to miss her. But every individual needs to harden himself against setbacks, needs to gather his own courage to withstand the tests of time. I've been trying to do a good job of it. The last six years after my mother passed away have been especially hard on me. The period of recovery began in 2006. Hopefully things will get even better for me in 2007."

Govinda now has Nikhil Advani's Salaam-E-Ishq to look forward to at the beginning of 2007. "My reputation of an unpunctual actor should now be gone. I was up at 5 am and 6 am for Bhagam Bhag and Salaam-e-Ishq."

Govinda looking fresh and raring to go in SEI

Salaam-E-IshqGuess who is the man standing out in the promos of Nikhil Advani's upcoming film SALAAM-E-ISHQ? GOVINDA!

Promos of the film have made a sensational impact so far and SALAAM-E-ISHQ is bound to be the first universal success this New Year as it arrives on 25th January. And while there are as many as 6 couples in the film resulting in 12 major actors trying to share the limelight, the man who is standing out in the crowd is none other than the comeback man - Govinda.

While he looks in great form in upcoming BHAGAM BHAG, it was pretty much expected since this Priyadarshan film belongs to comic genre which is Govinda's forte and hence it is least expected to see Govinda rock the show. But what comes as a pleasant surprise is to see him stand out in a film like SALAAM-E-ISHQ, which is an ensemble piece and has top stars like Salman Khan, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna.

So while the romantic film looks all glossy and eye candy, it is quite a fine sight to see Govinda looking all immersed in his lover boy character of Raju Taxiwala. In the film, Raju is shown to be a man who is in love with a foreigner girl Stephanie [Shannon Esrechowitz] and has been waiting to meet her again for as many as 15 years.

http://image1.indiaglitz.com/hindi/news/bBhagambhag301006_1.jpg

Priyadarshan and Producers Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd have pulled out at all stops for their joint magnum opus BHAGAMBHAG. And endorsing that is the amazing Rs 1 Crore spent for the title song of the film starring Akshay Kumar and Govinda! Filmed at Yash Raj and Kamal Amrohi Studios in Mumbai and choreographed by ace dance director Ganesh Acharya, the track is to be used during the credits of the film.

The song is the title track of the film and our two heroes in the video have donned the get up of stylish rap singers. The music video is very much in sync with the comic theme of the film, and many beautiful women, who dance along with them, accompany the two. "It's a lavish and well made number and we have used just a glimpse for the promos, wait till you see the entire song!" says Denis Selarka of Ashtavinayak in an excited tone.

Starring Akshay Kumar and Govinda along with Paresh Rawal, Lara Dutta, Tanushree Dutta, Arbaaz Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Manoj Joshi and Jackie Shroff, the film is about the hilarious trials and tribulations, Bunty (Akshay) and Babla (Govinda) together go through as theatre artists with Champak Chaturvedi's (Paresh Rawal) theatre group.

Watch out for this exciting film coming your way December 22nd!

Salman rides autorickshaw with Govinda

Gossip mills churn out a lot of stories on the night life of the Bollywood stars as much as on their daytime chores. The popular night bird is our very own Sallu. The actor reputed for his on-and-off eccentric behaviour is in news for his noctornual habits. The hearthrob came riding an autorickshaw at Govinda's house to pick the actor for a late night ride.

Govinda on his experience says that, "Actually, I wasn't surprised. When you have a friend like Salman Khan anything can happen I was not prepared to go for a rickshaw ride in the middle of the night at all. But you can't say 'no' to Salman. It's not that he is authoritative. But he asks you to do something with so much love that you feel refusing him would be like denying a baby."

Salmaan has been on friendly terms with a Bandra autorickshaw driver for long. Occasionally, one can find an auto running on the Bandra streets with Salman as its driver. "We went to Bandra. It was lovely, there was a nip in the air which felt good in the rickshaw. Salman loves rickshaws and he makes sure that he drives whenever he is travelling by one," says Govinda. One can expect such stuff from Salman for sure!
