After UNDERTRIAL, Rajpal set to return as LALLAN

Download Malamaal Weekly WallpapersRajpal Yadav is certainly going places as far as playing different roles and now even appearing in a lead role is concerned.

He is currently being showered with all around appreciation and accolades for his terrific performance in just released UNDERTRIAL. Giving a convincing performance yet again, Rajpal Yadav has excelled, as expected; in this Nazim Rizvi produced film.

Meanwhile he has also worked in Nazim Rizvi's another quick production titled HELLO...HUM LALLAN BOL RAHE HAIN. Yet another small budget film, HHLBRH again stars Rajpal Yadav in central role as Lallan and has newcomer Preeti Mehra starring opposite him.

Written and directed by Dileep Shukla, HHLBRH is a light hearted entertainer which is in complete contrast to the topical theme of UNDERTRIAL.

Rajpal Yadav plays the man who allegedly raped his three daughters

Producer Nazim Rizvi who was in jail for alleged underworld connections met a man in prison who proved to be the inspiration for his new production.

Recounting the experience, the film's lead Rajpal Yadav says, "At least one good thing came of Rizvi Saab's stint in Thane jail. He met Asghar Hussain, the man from Lucknow accused of raping three of his daughters. Rizvi Saab decided to get first-time director Aziz Khan to direct the film."

Rajpal was stunned when he was offered the role. "How could I play a man accused of such a heinous and unthinkable crime? But to me, the challenge as an actor is to go beyond my own expectations. I immediately began to think about the character, his motivations and his frustrations."

And now the film entitled Undertrial is ready for release in January 2007. "The producer took on the task of intense research. And we came across some startling facts about the man accused of such bestial behaviour."

Says Rajpal Yadav, "What made up my mind about the role was some phone calls that I made to the protagonist's home town in Lucknow where people had asked for Asghar Hussain to be hanged. I inquired in Lucknow as to what happened to the man they wanted executed. No one had a clue! That's when I thought of those heroes and villains who get lost in the passages of time. I knew Asghar wasn't what he was made out to be."

Undertrial was shot on actual location in Thane. Recounting the experience Rajpal says, "1500 inmates of the jail participated in the shooting. This is the first time that a film has been shot from its first frame to the last on location in an actual jail. And I'm the first actor from any part of the world to play a man accused of raping his own daughters."

Interestingly the real accused rapist's name has been changed to Sagar Hussain in the film. But Rajpal hopes to show the film to the real character. "Yes. Asghar Hussain is alive. Hopefully this film will tell his true story to a world which has no space for justice, only sensationalism."

Rajpal breaks funny man mould

http://www.hindisong.com/Interview/RajpalYadav/rajpal%20yadav.jpg
His unique ability to merge himself with any character and the honesty with which he approaches his roles have made him one of the most popular names when it comes to Bollywood comedians.

Meet Rajpal Yadav – a comedian, a villain, a hero, an item boy and even leading man. The actor who brings a smile on everyone's face now wants to break the funny man mould.

From a mere three-minute performance in Shool to unforgettable cameos to playing the main lead in Main, Mere Patni Aur Who, it's been quite a journey for actor Rajpal Yadav.

His performances have earned him the reputation of being one of the most talented yet underrated actors in the industry.

Rajpal Yadav, the comic trigger of Bollywood, is a man afraid of heights but thanks to his new film Bhagam Bhag, he has cured his acrophobia.

Yadav says, “50 maale ki building se neeche dekhne ko man karta tha but is film ko karne ke baad woh chala gaya. (I used to feel a little scared if I had to take a lift to the 50th floor, but after this movie that scare has vanished)."

His many on-screen characters have made you laugh even this clinically villainous character from Jungle had a humorous side. So what is Rajpal Yadav's definition of comedy?

Comedy blood circulate karne ka bahut achcha tareeqa hai. (Comedy is good for blood circulation), " Yadav adds.

Rajpal Yadav believes in what he says and as if an answer to critics who insist he's repeating himself too often, the actor will next be seen in Under-Trial inspired by the real life story of a man accused of raping his three daughters.

"Hamaare jiwan ki ajooba film hai. 25 se 50 saal ka kirdaar nibhaane ka mauka mila hai, (It's an amazing film for me. I had never thought that in one film I will get to play both a 25 and a 50 year old), " he adds.

Despite the occasional serious role, for the most part he says he looks for inspiration to Charlie Chaplin, which explains why most of his characters are drawn from real life.

Rajpal Yadav rids himself of acrophobia!

Considered the paragon of humour, Rajpal Yadav proves that all good things come in small packages. Few are aware that this powerhouse of talent suffers a morbid fear of heights – which is why he thinks ten times before performing any ‘heightened’ stunts!

However, during the shooting of Priyadarshan's Bhagam Bhag, the comic actor had no choice but to perform stunts; one of them involved jumping off a high rise building! Not only did the actor perform the stunt well, but he says it finally cured his fear of heights and now he can jump whenever and from whichever height without fear!

A proud Rajpal claimed, "Bhagte bhagte, Haste Hasate I didn't even realize I was capable of such things, so this is just one of many pleasant surprises I got from Bhagam Bhag! Now I can jump from any height without any fears!”

Bhagam Bhag is slated to release on December 22nd this year.
