Hrithik to star in Anurag Basu's next movie: Is it Metro 2?

There's bad and good news for Hrithik Roshan's fans in 2008.

Hrithik's next starrer would not be directed by his father. In fact, papa Roshan has decided to take a long sabbatical from direction.

But hold on.

Rakesh Roshan is producing a film - to start in July 2008 - that will feature Hrithik in a never-before avatar!

"It's an action thriller with a strong love story at its heart. Anurag Basu, whom both I and Hrithik think very highly of, is directing the film for us," reveals Rakesh Roshan.

If my dear readers remember, Bollywood Buzz discussed about this earlier also in July, 2007. Is it Metro 2?

Hrithik Roshan off to Singapore for a 6-week knee treatment

Last night, Hrithik Roshan left for Singapore for a well-deserved, six-week break to rest and recuperate from a knee injury.

But before that, he spoke to TOI's Deepali Dhingra about the complications that led to the same.

"I think too much of abuse during Krishh and Dhoom 2 and some portions of Jodhaa Akbar, where I had to do a lot of action stuff, led to this (knee injury). I basically succumbed to the notion that we're all heroes and pain doesn't matter," Hrithik says.

So Hrithik has been strapping himself and going through the pain and getting the shot done! "I understand now how foolish I have been!" he smiles.

The actor has identified Singapore as the place where he can get the best medical treatment for his problem and will be undergoing aggressive physiotherapy sessions for the next six weeks. He will be going there alone for the time being, but wife Sussane has plans to join him later.

But Hrithik admits he's not a good patient.

"It's very hard for me to do nothing. I have to force myself to rest! It's the hardest thing for me to do. If you tell me that I have to run 24 hours a day for the next 10 days to make my knee better, I will do it, because I have something to do! That's a challenge for me. Resting is against my personality," he says.

But maybe that's the reason he's reached this point where he has to force himself to rest? "That's true," he admits with a laugh.

The actor will be back in Mumbai sometime in January, close to Jodhaa Akbar's release date (Jan 25, 2008).

"The film has taken far longer than what we thought it would take, but then time is immaterial when you're talking about climbing an Everest.

Jodhaa Akbar for me is an Everest, so it doesn't matter how much time it takes to conquer that peak, as long as we've achieved that task and that has been done. It has juiced me out completely and I can say that I deserve this little break now," he smiles.

Hrithik to play Salman's son in Mera Bharat Mahaan!

If reports are to be believed, Hrithik Roshan might play the role of Salman Khan's son in a film!

Director Samir Karnik's next film Mera Bharat Mahaan has a galaxy of stars including Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Sohail Khan, Dino Morea and Mithun Chakraborty.

Now, the director is looking forward to expand this ensemble by signing Hrithik. The director is said to be in discussion with Hrithik about the role. However, nothing seems to have been finalized as yet.

Sources say the role of Salman's son in the film demands an actor who fits the image of a soldier. And since Hrithik went through rigorous military training for his role in Lakshya, he is being seen as the perfect choice for the role in the movie.

Now it remains to be seen if the extremely choosy Hrithik will give his nod to Samir Karnik.

Shah Rukh Khan opposite Hrithik Roshan in Krrish 2?

Tinsel town is abuzz with talks about Shahrukh Khan starring in Rakesh Roshan's Krrish 2.

If sources are to be believed then Bollywood's King Khan and Hrithik Roshan will share screen space together in the sequel to Bollywood's super hit sci-fi Krrish which in itself is a sequel to Koi Mil Gaya.

Grapevine says that Shahrukh Khan gave his consent as soon as he was offered a role by Rakesh Roshan over phone without even enquiring about the movie nor his role!

It was only after he received a text message on his phone from Hrithik Roshan that he realised he had just accepted the role of a superhero in Krrish 2. The text message that Hrithik wrote read something like this: Krrish is gonna kick Kroadh's ass. U better b in shape!

Shah Rukh Khan will be playing an alien in human form (Kroadh), who cannot be killed. He will initially fight against Hrithik, but at the time of the final battle, he will fight from Hrithik's side against the evil forces.

Well...it's all just rumours for no one related to the movie has confirmed the news till now.

Hrithik Roshan might do Shirish Kunder's Prince Of India

After Jodhaa Akbar, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan is reportedly interested in doing more epic films.

And reports are that Hrithik is already in talks with Shirish Kunder (husband of Farah Khan).

Kunder made his directorial debut with Jaan-e-mann. Inspite of having big stars like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta, the film received a lukewarm response at the box-office. However this has not deterred Kunder and he is ready with his second project Joker, which will again star Akshay.

According to sources, Kunder initially wanted to make his directorial debut with an epic film titled Prince of India.

And now sources claim that after seeing Hrithik in the promo of Jodhaa Akbar, he is keen to revive his dream with Hrithik starring in it.

Moreover, Hrithik too seems keen to be a part of Kunder's project and is actually interested in doing more epic films. Sources claim Hrithik and Kunder have been having regular meetings and discussing the film.

In the past, one has seen stars like the eternal Dharmendra, the ever- bankable SRK, Shiney Ahuja, Zayed Khan and even Shilpa Shetty doing the honours, by striking deal with liquor brands.

After having endorsed vests and mobile phones, Hrithik seems to be on a roll with this endorsement.

Reasoning Hrithik as the choice, Abhishek Khaitan (MD, Radico Khaitan) said that Hrithik's energy, style personality fits well with the brand's personality.

Hrithik Roshan, Kamal Hassan together in Adlabs' next action thriller

Hrithik Roshan and Kamal Hassan shall be seen together in an Rs 100 crore budgeted action thriller produced by Adlabs.

The multiple national award winning south superstar will be paid more than Hrithik for this film. This will be second outing for Hrithik with any south film industry stalwart. As a child artist he had acted with Rajnikant in Bhagwaan Dada (1986) produced by dad, Rakesh Roshan.

A source from Adlabs reveals, " Kamal Hassan will be paid Rs 20 crores for the yet untitled film which will make him the highest paid actor in India overtaking Rajnikant who was paid Rs 16 crores for Sivaji and Shahrukh Khan who is now demanding Rs 15 crores per film.

Hrithik will be doing the film as a part of his three-film contract with Adlabs for which he has signed for a total, Rs 36 crores. This means per film he shall be getting Rs 12 crores that's far less than what Kamal will be paid for their film together.

There were talks with Kamal to direct the film as well but he has not given his nod yet. An alternative name is currently being discussed in case the talented veteran star says no for the double duty."

Hrithik gets scentimental

Hrithik Roshan has a distinct love for perfumes.

Call it a fixation if you may, but the actor wears only one perfume at a time when he's shooting for a particular film. Of course, the fragrance is replaced once a new film starts rolling!

The story goes that the perfectionist actor handpicks a particular perfume before he starts shooting for a film. He then religiously wears the same fragrance throughout the filming process. Eventually, for him, the film becomes synonymous with the perfume brand.

The actor, who is presently filming for Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar, is very particular about the way he wears his perfume. One source from the sets in Karjat informs that he usually, applies the perfume and allows it to dry before slipping into his costume. He feels that perfume should not be oversprayed as the fragrance is not supposed to repel people.

Hrithik has managed to keep his perfume habit under wraps. When quizzed about it, papa Rakesh Roshan says that he is not aware of his son's way with fragrances. "I wouldn't know about the perfume he wears," he says.

However, sister Sunaina has made a note of the actor's all-time favourite in his ever expanding perfume collection. She says, "From whatever I know of him, he is very fond of fragrances by the design house Issey Miyake."
