Ayesha Takia in Milap Zaveri’s Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai!

Ayesha Takia - who played a dubbing artist in her recently released Sunday - is now all set to play an alien, in writer turned director, Milap Zaveri's debut film - Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai! - to be produced by Mukesh Talreja and Nikhil Advani's Orion Pictures Private Limited.

It will star Ayesha Takia, Ritiesh Deshmukh and Ruslaan Mumtaz (of MP3 fame) in lead roles.

Without revealing much about her character, Milap confirms, "Yes, Ayesha has a very interesting role in the film. She is playing an alien who comes from Venus.

There are lot of love stories between rich and poor, caste and creed but nothing that is out of the world. So I came up with a twist to the popular concept of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. I kept the man from Earth and the Woman from Venus!"

Ritesh Deshmukh plays the guy from planet Earth while Ayesha Takia is the girl from Venus.

It has a concept of an alien searching for love from an earthling, and there will be lot of special effects, in the film.

How was Ayesha's reaction when she came to know about her role?

"When I narrated this story to Ayesha, she liked the script so much, that she confirmed this film in just 30 seconds. She will have a completely wacky look, just like someone who looks like from some other world. We are in the process of designing her look." says Milap.

Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai! - a romantic comedy, with lots of humor and emotions that the young generation of today can connect with - will commence in April 2008.

Stay tuned in!

Ayesha Takia's interview on BBC Asian Network's Love Bollywood Show

Ayesha Takia, soon to be seen in Rohit Shetty's Sunday, joined BBC Asian Network's Love Bollywood Show to talk about her new film and what she thinks of her sexy image.

She told Love Bollywood presenters, Raj & Pablo, that semi-nudity - in her opinion - is not something for family viewing and likes Indian women to be respected for their elegance and dignity.

She was asked by Raj & Pablo if she would wear a bikini if Hollywood came calling.

She replied, ''No I wouldn't! As I said, my rules don't change depending on who is offering what. They've always been the same. Obviously my audience like the way I am. I'm not saying I'm going out there wearing a burqa but I'm not going to cross the limit to where people wouldn't want to see my face anymore…. I'm really scared of that.

I'm not comfortable with some things - my audience has expected me the way I am and the things I do and don't do. I like to maintain those limits. When I say this people take this a bit too seriously, they think I won't go out in a short skirt but it's not like that. Levels of decency have to be maintained especially in our country, we live in a city and a very hip society but that's not our country.

I feel that Indian culture is so beautiful and people all around the world look up to us and want to see how elegant and how delicate and traditional our women are, and have been for generations, and we shouldn't let that go. We should try and keep our culture at some level...it's important to be Indian women at some level where people look up to us."

The movie tells the story of an undercover cop who works for a mafia don. His aim is to eliminate the gangsters by being a part of them.

Ayesha Takia walks out of Aladin

Ayesha Takia who recently walked out of Aamir Khan's Ghajini remake has also walked out of another big film now.

The actress was supposed to play the female lead role of Princess Jasmine in Sujoy Ghosh's fantasy film Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp opposite Ritesh Deshmukh who plays Aladin in the film. However now she is no more a part of that project.

Sujoy confirms the news. "Yes, Ayesha is not in my film anymore". But what went wrong? In fact one expects a good rapport between the two since Ayesha was also in Sujoy's last film Home Delivery. Sujoy doesn't give any reasons but all he says is, "We are looking out for a new girl. A fresh face altogether!"

The final starcast of the film as of now comprises of Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Sameera Reddy.

Ayesha Takia to star in Aladin

http://specials.rediff.com/movies/2007/jan/24slide1.jpg
Has Ayesha Takia been signed by Sujoy Ghosh for his upcoming biggie Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp?

"How did you get to know about it", questions Sujoy with a surprised tone, "Frankly I had not told anyone about it!" Well, we do have our sources to indicate developments like these. So is it true or not? "Well, it is indeed true", confirms Sujoy from Amsterdam.

Ayesha Takia in a children's film does sound like an exciting idea. After all she is one of the cutest girls around with a sweet aura to boast. Also, she is popular amongst children. "What you say is all right but then I didn't sign her just because she is cute", clarifies Sujoy, "What I needed was an actress for this role and Ayesha fits in like a T."

Ayesha was also seen in Sujoy's last release Home Delivery. Is there a new director-actor association building up here? "It was a good experience to have worked together in Home Delivery. While HD had her as a sweet-n-innocent plain Jane, in Aladin she would be seen as a beautiful-n-charming Princess Jasmine. I am sure she would light up the screen," he says fondly.

Well, screen will certainly light up considering the fact that Aladin has none other than Amitabh Bachchan as Genius, the Genie along with Sanjay Dutt while Riteish Deshmukh plays the title role of Aladin.

The film's principal shoot is expected to begin in the second half of the year as Aladin aims for a 2008 release. Presented by Ramesh Sippy, the film is produced by Rohan Sippy.

Sweet encounters with Ayesha Takia

Ayesha Takia and Akshaye Khanna have worked together in Satish Kaushik’s comedy Shaadi Se Pehle. The duo will now be seen together once again in Nikhil Advani's multi-starrer Salaam-E-Ishq. In Salaam-E-Ishq, Ayesha plays the role of Gia who is in love with Akshaye Khanna, who in turn is commitment phobic. Incidentally, even in Shaadi Se Pehle, Ayesha plays Akshaye’s fiancĂ©e who is very much in love with him.

Ayesha is not known for her sweet, bubbly image for nothing. Like actor Akshaye Khanna said about his co-star, “I think very highly of Ayesha as an actress. As a person she is a sweet and a nice little girl, always smiling. I am very comfortable working with her.”

Now we have something for you which will back just what Akshaye had to say. The climax of Salaam-E-Ishq was shot over a period of 5 days in a suburban studio in Mumbai. All the actors were summoned in batches to finish their respective parts. However, Ayesha was the only actress present on all the 5 days of the shoot. If that wasn’t professional enough, she also had to wear a bridal outfit that easily weighed about 5 kilos, which took a total of three hours for her to get into. She carried it off without complaining and spent all day on the sets in this costume! And off course, we are quite sure she looked a million bucks with the bridal outfit. That’s a double dose of sweetness for you.

2007 - A rocking year for Ayesha Takia

http://www.funmunch.com/celebrities/actresses/ayesha_takia/ayesha_takia_images/enlarge.jpg
After winning majority of best debutant award in year 2004 after the release of TAARZAN - THE WONDER CAR and DIL MAANGE MORE, pretty Ayesha Takia didn't really have a great time at the box office.

Her SOCHA NA THA brought her immense appreciation but her subsequent films like SHAADI NO.1, HOME DELIVERY and SHAADI SE PEHLE weren't really noticed by many.

Thankfully a turnaround happened in a small but interesting role in Naseeruddin Shah's debut directorial effort YUN HOTA TOH KYA HOTA. Double whammy came in the form of Nagesh Kukunoor's DOR and suddenly the glam doll was taken seriously as an actor.

All this and more should help her expect a rocking 2007 ahead where she would be having as many as 5 releases at the least, starting with magnum opus SALAAM-E-ISHQ. A guaranteed success in the making, the film pairs her with her SHAADI SE PEHLE co-star Akshaye Khanna. Her next release after this would be Ahmed Khan's FOOL N FINAL where she plays a tomboyish character.

Salaam-E-IshqAnurag Kashyap's NO SMOKING is an interesting subject too where she would be seen with John Abraham. The film is aiming for a release towards the middle of the year. After saying KYA KOOL HAIN HUM, Tusshar Kapoor would be exclaiming KYA LOVE STORY HAI in Ayesha's ears soon where she would be working with first time director Lovely Singh.

On the same lines, DE TAALI is another fun film that she is currently working with LOVE KE LIYE KUCH BHI KAREGA director E Niwas. In the film, she would be seen along with youngsters Aftab Shivdasani, Ritesh Deshmukh and Rimi Sen.

With so much happening in Ayesha's film career currently, it is indeed an exciting time for her to be playing a long innings in Bollywood!

Partners in crime- Ayesha & Shahid

View Dil Maange More !!! Movie StillsYes! The very youthful Shahid Kapoor and Ayesha Takia play partners in crime in Ahmed Khan’s FOOL and FINAL. Takia plays a thief along with Shahid and they are always on the run, choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan (who made his directorial debut with LAKEER) informed a tabloid. He said it is all about fools trying to finalise things. They are out and out to get each other but end up getting together. He also revealed that Ayesha plays a bubbly girl with a different look and will be seen chewing bubble gum in the film. She’s sporting an unkempt, scruffy look in the film. Shahid plays a trendy city slicker who rides a BMX cycle throughout the film. The film has some amazing, breathtaking stunts by Allan Amin.
