Akshaye-Abhishek to star in lesbian drama!

Even before production can start, there's quite a lot of buzz surrounding the Hollywood film When Kiran Met Karen.

The lesbian love story first came into the limelight when Perizaad Zorabian was slated to play the role of Kiran, a well-known Bollywood actress in New York who confronts her own sexuality when she is cast opposite Karen, an American actress.

Then there was news that Perizaad opted out of the film because she didn't feel comfortable with the role. After that came the announcement that US-Indian actress Purva Bedi and Lisa Ray were in the project.

Now the latest on WKMK is that Abhishek Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna are slated to play important parts in the film.

Not denying this bit of information is WKMK producer-director Manan Singh Katohora. "It's too early to talk, but my agent in Mumbai is doing some wonders in terms of the casting. Wait and watch," said Manan.

When contacted, Akshaye Khanna's spokesperson Rohini Iyer had this to say. " Akshaye gets a lot of scripts to read and this may be one of them. But as of now, he has not signed on any Hollywood project." Abhishek Bachchan was unavailable for comment.

Akshaye does salsa in Naqaab!

Producer Ramesh Turani and Kumar S Turani of Tips Film are coming with their most shocking thriller of the year, NAQAAB, very soon. This film cast consists of Akshaye Khanna, Bobby Deol and debutant model cum actor Urvashi Sharma.

Though it is a musical thriller the interesting part is director Abbas Mustan and the Taurani brothers have decided to keep a salsa dance in this film. This dance will be performed by Akshaye Khanna and newcomer Urvashi Shrama. Earlier the talented Akshaye didn't get a chance to show his dancing skill to any of his films but this time he has got a chance to show his talent as a dancer.

Choreographer Raju Khan has choreographed this dance sequence. According to Raju Khan, Akshaye Khanna has a flexible body so it was not so difficult for him to train him to get the steps right. Before the final take both the actors have done few rehearsals to perform the best on screen.

Salsa is an extremely sensual dance genre that needs a certain chemistry and comfort level between the pair. And choreographer Raju Khan was extremely happy to see both the actors performing salsa so comfortably.

Akshaye's non-disclosure about Gandhi

Recently, a hushed screening of Gandhi, My Father was held exclusively for overseas distributors in London.

Insiders who have seen the film produced by Anil Kapoor claim that it is Akshaye Khanna's finest performance till date. They add that like Lagaan it's an international film and will make it as India's entry into the Oscars next year.

But everyone associated with the film has been tight-lipped about it. Even Akshaye is not revealing anything as he's apparently signed a 'non-disclosure' clause in the contract.

But the joke doing the rounds among the cast and crew of the film is that Anil didn't have to sign the contract with Akshaye as he's in any case so taciturn!

Akshaye Khanna - A fashion icon?

Normally reserved Akshaye Khanna was the cynosure of everyone's eyes when he walked the ramp for designer Manav Gangwani. He was the talk of the fashion fraternity in Delhi. In fact Manav Gangwani had asked him to choose between 4 outfits & Akshaye chose the Dhoti outfit.

When asked on how he felt walking the ramp for the first time in the fashion week and his views on fashion, he said, "I enjoyed it thoroughly, it was fun, and fashion to me is an extension of your personality."

A fashion insider commented, "The fashion circle was truly stunned when they saw Akshaye walking the ramp. We always knew him to be a handsome & an iconic actor, but he looked so cool when he walked the ramp. It was good to see him in such a different light"

How Akshay Khanna spent his Valentine Day!

Akshay is known to be an introvert when it comes to his personal space. Even when there were speculations in the media about him dating a rich socialite from New York, Akshay neither denied nor confirmed it.

Though Akshay spent his Valentine Day shooting for Abbas- Mastan's 'RACE' in South Africa, sources close to him say that Akshay will be spending a belated Valentine in Goa when the socialite will be coming down from New York for a common friend's wedding.

When quizzed about Valentine Day, Akshay just grins, "Yeah I totally believe in the power of love ….. Love is what makes the world go round isn't it?"

'Media knows more about my love life'

There has been speculation that Akshay is dating a socialite from New York ever since he had been there to attend his friend wedding. But Akshay seems to be oblivious, since he is currently shooting for ‘Race’ in South Africa with Abbas- Mastan. Speculation is rife because Akshay is considered an introvert and his single status & everyone seems interested in knowing when Akshay will finally take the plunge.

When asked about the media report Akshay who is busy shooting in South Africa laughs & says, “The media seems to know about my love life, more than me. Yet, I can understand that, let the media do its job, whilst I do mine & that is acting.”

“I hate experimenting with my looks”

“I hate experimenting with my looks. I don't follow trends for the heck of it. I am very particular about what I wear. Style from me is not a label but and attitude,” says Akshay Khanna. Akshay Khanna recently did a high fashion photo-shoot with a special stylist of International repute.

The stylist was simply ecstatic and raved that Akshay’s looks were truly international. Not surprising, since it's a given fact that Akshay possesses a certain pedigree that is class apart. He understands high fashion, with a cool attitude to match.

Akshay is known to spend obscene amount on his shoes, if it goes well with his sense of style. Taking a step further, Falguni Thakore will style Akshay in Abbas Mastan's next film with Bobby Deol and Urvashi Sharma. Incidentally Falguni Thakore is behind the styling of Abhishek Bachchan.
