Deol power dominates April

Sunny, Bobby and AbhayIt could well be a record of sorts.

Each of the three Deols, Sunny, Bobby and Abhay, would be seeing a release of theirs hitting the silver screen week after week in April.

The Deol festival begins with Bobby Deol starrer SHAKALAKA BOOM BOOM where he has Upen Patel for company. This Suneel Darshan film based on rivalry amongst music super stars is slated for April 06 release.

A week later arrives Sunny Deol's BIG BROTHER that has finally been confirmed for April 13th. After a few hiccups, this Guddu Dhanoa film is now being keenly awaited by die-hard Sunny fans.

Well, looking at his elder brothers enjoying themselves this beginning of summer, even the youngest of them, Abhay, is not far behind as his EK CHALIS KI LAST LOCAL is also hitting the marquee exactly a week later i.e. April 20th.

Directed by debutant Sanjay Khanduri, the film comes at a time when both Abhay and Neha, the lead pair of the film, are having good times professionally. While Abhay now has a hit in the form of HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD., Neha has been recognized for her natural performance in just released DELHII HEIGHTS.

With such a festival round the corner, one can be quite sure it won't be just difficult but impossible to ignore the Deols.

Abhay and Neha's onscreen kiss in 1:40 Ki Last Local

Onscreen kissing is slowly taking up in Bollywood. After the infamous kiss between Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in Dhoom 2, it is now Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia who will be seen lip-locked in their upcoming film 1:40 Ki Last Local. This will be the first time that Abhay will be kissing onscreen while Neha is not new to this (Julie, Sheesha). Onscreen kisses were also seen in recent films like Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Salaam Namaste. Though kissing in Bollywood was generally considered a no-no, these days Bollywood is becoming quite open about it.

1:40 Ki Last Local is story about a young man who misses his last train and lands up in a situation. The film is directed by Sanjay Khandoori and is scheduled to release early next year.

Abhay - Soha together again in 'Meridian'

After pairing up in 'Ahista Ahista', Abhay Deol and Soha Ali Khan would be seen together again in a film titled 'Meridian'.

An ensemble piece that also stars Arjun Rampal and Irrfan Khan, the film is written and directed by debutant Venod Mitra and produced by Nilesh Dadhich and Angad Paul. As per Abhay, the film belongs to a completely different genre than his two released films 'Socha Na Tha' and 'Ahista Ahista'. Also viewers would be seeing him and Soha in a different light than 'Ahista Ahista'.

Though debutant Shivam Nair directed 'Ahista Ahista' was a well made film with some genuinely touching moments and very good music by Himesh Resahmmiya, it was a disaster at the box office due to poor promotion and bad release strategy. With 'Meridian', Abhay and Soha would be hoping that they the film is promoted and released well and their work is appreciated by the audience.
