Now, according to the latest gossip doing the rounds in B-Town, there is a strong possibility of Hollywood star Jean Claude Van Damme's daughter starring in the film, in a crucial role!
"Yes she is here, but I wouldn't want to talk about it. She is a big man's daughter. Things arent' finalized yet," says director Anil Sharma.
Sharma isn't willing to disclose anything about the film, except that, it's a period film based in 1800 and Salman has been working hard on his physique.
It seems, he has to enhance his frame by one and a half times since he is playing a warrior, in the film.
Van Damme sports a ferocious physique, and is known world over, for his international action packed films like Bloodsport, Universal Soldier, Double Impact etc.
He has two sons and one daughter born in 1990 named Bianca from body builder, Gladys Portugues.
Considering both her parents are in physical sport, she must be a tough gal as well!
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan may just answer the prayers of millions of their fans, and aspiring film directors for that matter!
The superstars (and bosom friends) may finally feature together in a potboiler, which is a remake of the Tom Cruise starrer, Jerry Maguire (1996).
Interestingly, Salman's younger brother Sohail Khan was seen pitching the project to a major film studio, a few days back and B-town sources indicate that he has a ready, bound script of the Jerry Maguire remake.
Salman will essay the role of Cuba Gooding Junior (who won an Oscar for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role) and Sohail wants to cast Shah Rukh as the ambitious sports agent, played by Tom Cruise in the original.
That's the strong buzz doing the rounds in B-town lately!
Apparently before the year ends, Sallu miyan will get married to his sweetheart Katrina Kaif.
Finally, he has complied to the pleas and demands and made an earnest promise to his family - especially his mother Salma and dad Salim - that he is willing to sacrifice his bachelorhood at the alter, this year.
Salman's parents had made a final peremptory plea to the actor saying they want to see him happily married with kids. And Salman accepted without much fuss!
Marriage and Salman have always seemed poles apart.
One of his friends said, "He promised his parents that he will marry this year. Hope he doesn't change his mind. Knowing him, anything is possible!"
Even if it is a good news for his well-wishers, it certainly isn't going to go down well with his female admirers. And why not?
With one of the good-looking bachelors in Bollywood giving up his bachelorhood, it's certainly going to be a disappointment for the girls ;o)
Salman Khan may have almost finished two decades in the film industry, but he still keeps on getting newer and unexplored challenges even now.
The handsome actor, who has played a variety of characters in his films, would now be doing something which he hasn't done before.
Bollywood's very own bad boy would be seen playing a Sardar for the first time, in his upcoming film - Heroes - directed by Sameer Karnik!
One casual look and you may feel, he is just another Sardar wearing the turban and sporting a beard. But a closer look and you will see those eyes, that drive a zillion female fans crazy!
Apart from Salman, Heroes stars Sohail Khan, Vatsal Seth, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta, Amrita Arora, Riya Sen and Mithun Chakraborty.
Salman plays a military official in this road-trip film which is apparently inspired by the cult classic, The Motorcycle Diaries.
In fact - to make the look more authentic - Salman even grew his own beard for three weeks, and has really worked hard, on getting the look right.
One thing is for sure, when the film hits the box-office, die-hard Salman fans will surely queue up to see their favorite hero in his brand new look!
No doubt, Salman is one of the fittest actors in Bollywood. He has a well toned body and has always believed in maintaining it.
Salman apparently loves to work out and has given many young rising stars in Bollywood, tips on working out and developing a fit body.
Well now it seems, Salman wants to give tips on bodybuilding, and so, he is toying with the idea of writing a book on bodybuilding!
According to industry sources, "He wants to write a first person prologue on what got him into body building. In fact, he plans to trace his journey from his skinny days in Maine Pyar Kiya, to his toned up body."
Right now, Salman is not sure about what will be the main topics in the book, but he is reading up on fitness books written by well-known authors.
The statue of the beefcake actor - known for his chiseled physique - is shown wearing a black vest over a pair of jeans, his bulging biceps clearly prominent in his wax avatar.
While that is enough eye-candy for Sallu's female fans to drool over, one wonders what would have happened, had the statue been sculpted showing Salman's famous shirtless look?
Well...the artist of this picture sure has the answer to this question!
His version of Madame Tussauds has a bare-chested Salman flaunting his body, while the other female statues are literally drooling and dripping with wax!
Hmmm…one thing is for certain, if and when Madame Tussauds opens in New Delhi/Mumbai, female fans would make a beeline to ask their favorite matinee idol, "Mujhse Shaadi Karoge!"
Surrounded by fans, Salman Khan unveiled his wax figure at Madame Tussauds in United Kingdom, on tuesday.
Salman came to the venue in a white Bentley and accompanying him was his younger sister Arpita, Bobby Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
Salman beat nine other Indian mega stars - including Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Lata Mangeshkar and Abhishek Bachchan - to win a place at the world famous wax museum, after a public poll conducted last summer.
Salman's statue stands in a special Bollywood section, alongside those of three other Bollywood greats - Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan.
"The hair is thicker, no eye bags, no double chin, arms are bigger and the nose is sharper!" Those were the exact words of Salman Khan when he came face to face with his wax replica. Well, who else could have understood his look-alike better than the actor himself!
Salman, himself, wore a long brown leather over-coat with his famous torn jeans (he was the one who started the trend of torn jeans in the Hindi Film Industry) and white glittery t-shirt. In short, he was looking dapper in this outfit, with his light brown hair and clean-shaven look.
Salman circled his wax figure by looking at it from top to bottom, when suddenly one of the journalists asked him whether his wax replica was the exact depiction of him in every department. The reply that came from Salman shocked everyone. "I still haven't looked properly. I mean inside his jeans!"
However, that wasn't enough for the 42 year old film Bollywood actor.
He said, "Even though I came in slightly later than Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan, I still think they all are following me. After today, I don't think there is any Bollywood actor who is worthy enough, to be standing next to me in Madame Tussauds."
I'm sure, Salman was just kidding...after all, we are well versed with his sense of humor!
He then added, "I think on a more serious note, Aamir Khan should have been the first one to be standing in Madame Tussauds."
Here's an interview he gave to the media, just before the unveiling of the statue.
One thing is for certain...January 15, 2008 will be best remembered as Salman Khan's day. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that he could not even take off his T-shirt!
Jokes apart, this will indeed be a proud day for all the Bollywood fans across the globe, and the Indian Film Industry.
Salman Khan has often been addressed as the 'Brat' of bollywood. But many have been moved by Salman's acts of kindness and charity.
Salman has often supported his fellow colleagues in the industry at times of crisis (Aman Verma scandal). Salman has also helped several actors, directors and composers get their break in bollywood.
Salman has now extended his kindness to 11-year- old Arvind Jain, a fan who has come all the way from London to meet Salman!
Arvind, who is physically challenged (due to muscle disorder) is a big movie buff and has always had the desire to meet his favourite actor, Salman Khan.
On a short visit to Mumbai, Arvind's parents expressed their son's desire to the Khan family who warmly welcomed Arvind over tea.
Salman spent time talking to the young lad who was nervous at first, but we all know that Salman shares a great rapport with kids, and thus had his way!
The two spoke a lot, right from movies to Madame Tussauds and much more.
Salman indeed loves kids and has got one big heart :o)
According to the latest buzz going around in town, Sooraj Barjatya (of Rajshri Productions) is now looking for a good script as he would like to cast Salman and Madhuri in his next yet again after the humungous success of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun.
"I want Salman to work for Rajshri again and even Madhuri, it's just that I am waiting for the right script so that as soon as I get it I can approach them", revealed Barjatya.
Salman Khan turns 42 today and last evening the actor decided to bring in his birthday with family and close friends.
He hosted a small get together at his Panvel farmhouse, away from the ever present media and fans in Mumbai.
Apart from Salman's family and Katrina, some of his close friends like Sajid Nadiadwala, David Dhawan, Ravi Chopra, singers Sajid-Wajid, Boney Kapoor and actor Ranbir Kapoor were present at the party.
Salman took to the dance floor and gyrated on several numbers along with his friends till the wee hours of the morning.
Salman's friend Sajid Nadiadwala said, "He doesn't accept any gifts on his birthday; on the contrary he is the one who hands out gifts!"
Salman beat nine other Indian mega stars, including Madhuri Dixit and Abhishek Bachchan, to be immortalized at the world famous attraction after a public poll conducted by Madame Tussauds this summer.
The actor was recently measured and photographed by expert Madame Tussauds sculptors in hometown Mumbai to kick-start painstaking work on his eagerly awaited wax double.
He has already chosen and donated clothes for the figure to wear and recorded an exclusive video message that will be shown to Madame Tussauds visitors following the big 'reveal'.
Salman Khan commented: "I am touched and honoured that my fans have chosen me to appear in Madame Tussauds. I very much look forward to visiting and coming face to face with my likeness."
Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor have finally decided to bury the hatchet.
The duo will be seen together in Sohail Khan Production's Mr and Mrs Khanna.
Mr and Mrs Khanna marks the debut of Prem Soni as a director. He is responsible for bringing Kareena and Salman together. Soni played the mediator and convinced Salman and Kareena to do his film.
Salman and Kareena weren't on talking terms for a long time. The situation got awkward between them after the Rockstar Concert happened in 2006. Shahid Kapoor - who was Kareena's boyfriend then - was a part of the concert along with Salman.
During the concert, Shahid tried to teach Salman a few dance steps. Salman, who is otherwise known for being an amiable person, did not take this too well as he expected Shahid to respect him for his seniority.
After that incident, Salman and Shahid had serious differences.
Salman has enough experience about performing live on stage. As he is a senior actor, he did not like Shahid trying to teach him to dance. This incident put Kareena in a tricky situation as Salman was Kareena and her sister Karishma's good friend. But, Kareena chose to side with Shahid rather than Salman.
Priyadarshan's Kyon Ki was the last film in which Salman and Kareena starred together.
Salman has been working on a film script for almost a year now and he has finally finished it.
The film has been titled Veer, it has been scripted by Salman and he will also play the main lead in the film. It will be presented by Eros, produced by Vijay Galani and directed by Anil Sharma.
It will be an action packed big budget film with a budget of over Rs.75 crores.
Since Salman has scripted the film and will also act in the film, his remuneration is said to be around Rs.25 cores. Salman will begin this film after completing Subash Gai's Yuvraj and Wanted Dead or Alive.
The music of the film will be composed by Salman's current favourite duo, Sajid-Wajid.
Salman has received praise as an actor, he also dabbles in painting and has sold quite a few canvases for charity causes and now he has turned scriptwriter with Veer.
It remains to be seen what kind of response Salman's script gets!
Salman Khan may not have got his one time lady love Aishwarya Bachchan in real life, but thanks to London's famous Madame Tussauds wax museum, they will get to be together now!
When Salman's statue is unveiled in January 2008, it will stand next to the statue of Aishwarya. Salman is the fourth Bollywood star after Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya to find a place in the museum.
The museum authorities say the placing of the two statues together is purely business oriented as they will attract more crowd.
Salman Khan and brother Sohail Khan are working on a movie project inspired from the 1985 Hollywood film, Back To The Future.
The movie will reportedly be called Hello Father. In the film the protagonist, Salman Khan, travels back in time and meets his father in youth.
It may be recalled that in Back To The Future, Hollywood actor Michael J. Fox played the character who travels back into past and helps in fixing the romantic match of his father and mother.
Hello Father, produced by Sohail Khan's production house, is a sequel to Salman and Sohail's 1999 movie, Hello Brother. The film's director, however, is yet to be finalized.
Madame Tussauds has finally chosen Salman Khan to be a part of their wax museum!
In a poll conducted by the internationally renouned museum, entertainment magazine Ikonz and BBC Asian Network, Salman beat nine other Indian stars including Abhishek Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit.
Salman will now join the coterie of Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
According to Ben Lovett, PR Manager for Madame Tussauds , "Over 10,000 fans and visitors voted in our poll, and we're over the moon that Salman Khan is the winner.
The Asian market is critical to our attraction and our association with Bollywood - particularly the launch of Shah Rukh Khan earlier this year - has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Asians, from both the UK and abroad, visiting and enjoying Madame Tussauds. We hope to build upon this exciting relationship with the unveiling of Salman."
Salman has given his consent to sit for the Madame Tussauds' sculptors. The figure will be officially unveiled early next year.
Honouring the Rajasthan High Court's August 31 order, Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Wednesday appeared before the registry of the court in connection with the chinkara poaching case.
Salman is expected to stay away from the court's proceedings for the next five to eight years as his case has been referred to judicial backlog, which means it will now be taken up in routine course, his lawyer said.
Salman, who arrived in Jodhpur on Tuesday night, appeared before the deputy registrar of HC on Wednesday morning and marked his attendance by signing on his case file.
"The high court will now hear his case in due course and he need not mark his presence before it till his turn comes for hearing," said Salman's lawyer H M Saraswat.
Salman Khan seems to have taken his bare-chested image to the next level.
Now, we may have an entire film with the Khan sans his shirt. And maybe trousers as well!
Salman has just signed on a film called Tarzan, set in the jungles. Salman will sport a new look for the film, which will go on the floors next year.
"I was always fascinated by Tarzan stories and I am glad that I have got a chance to do the film," Salman told media persons in Mumbai.
The film will be directed by Anees Bazmee who directed No Entry, one of Salman's biggest hits.
"I want to do the film for children," the actor continued. "I have found out that I have a huge fan following among kids, and I want to dedicate this film to them. I will get a new hairstyle for this film. It will be as popular as my hairstyle in Tere Naam. I want a different kind of look that will become a style statement," Salman said.
When asked was he prepared to stay in a jungle, Salman exclaimed, "Of course! Tarzan lived in a jungle with wild animals. You will see that element in my film too. I only hope animal activists don't come after my life before the film begins!" he laughed.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has turned down an offer from the Madame Tussauds museum in London to make his life size wax statue.
"The persons from the museum had approached Salman Khan about two to three weeks ago to make the statue of his. However, he has taken the decision today not to accept the offer," the actor's secretary Vikas Kapoor said.
Kapoor said Salman had not given any specific reason for refusing the offer.
Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan may come together for Ketan Desai's next film.
To be made under his father Manmohan Desai's banner, this film will be a treat for movie-goers since it will have such an unusual pairing.
Salman and Ketan have been friends for a long time and have also worked together earlier in Yeh Hai Jalwa which Ketan had produced and David Dhawan had directed. They have wanted to work together since a long time.
So, when Ketan approached Salman, the latter immediately agreed to do the film, no questions asked.
"I have spoken to Salman and we both are very keen to work with each other but at the moment I can't say anything as Salman's date-diary is full," says Ketan Desai.
