Suniel Shetty's film on 7/11 blasts: Little Godfather

Sunil Shetty’s Popcorn Entertainment is planning a film based on the 7/11 blasts on Mumbai trains.

The film is titled Little Godfather and Shetty says that it is his tribute to Mumbai’s Western Railways which helps people commute for earning their livelihood.

Suniel Shetty has recently auditioned around 25 star kids for this film. He has finalized five kids till now and eight kids will be taken in all.

The storyline of the film is based on a bunch of commuters traveling in first class compartment and how people help each other when the blasts happen. The film will go on floors in June and will be shot across Mumbai including Western and Central railway stations. The film will be directed by Joel.

Suniel Shetty to team up with Pakistan's Omar Sharif

Indo-Pak cultural ties never had it so good…at least on this side of the border. Pakistan's well-known comic talent Omar Sharif is now directing a love story entitled Tum Mere Ho for Chicago-based producer Masood Ali.

But it's Suniel Shetty who intends to make the best of the Omar factor in Bollywood. Suniel has invited the comic virtuoso to write the screenplay for a wacky Bollywood comic thriller.

"We haven't given it a title. But what Omar Bhai has come up with isn't short of brilliant. It's brilliant and it's sassy. Yusuf Khan whom I launched as a director in Khel, will direct me in Omar Bhai's film later this year," enthuses Suniel on a rare trip to Mumbai from Amby Valley where he's currently stationed shooting for his big reality show The Biggest Loser.

Would there be a problem getting our Pakistani visitor into India? "Not at all," says Suniel. "We've never had a problem with guests from any part of the world. In fact some of these mehmaan from across the border have come to India and found great success. Omar Bhai won't just write this film, he'll be supervising the scenario, dialogues, scenes…"

Suniel is greatly enthused by the project. "We plan to shoot the film abroad. It could be Malaysia or Bali," promises Suniel. As for his director, "I've great faith in Yusuf. And so what if Khel didn't work? Together with Omar Bhai I'm sure we'll create a dhamaka."

After a hiatus Suniel set to make a bang in 2007

During last couple of years or even more, audience has been used to watching Suneil Shetty in practically a film a month. Considered to be a good add-on to the starcast to make the film commercially more viable, he has always been considered everyone's favorite 'anna' in the industry.

Now giving his career a re-look and planning for an extended innings ahead, Shetty is signing his films more carefully and his latest projects boast of being highly prestigious with backing from all the right people.

After his last release APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY [Nov 2006], his next couple of films are slated for release after a gap of almost 6 months. All set to arrive on the silver screen once again, Shetty would be seen in FOOL N FINAL and CASH, both of which are expected to arrive in the month of April. Both the films are 100% action masala entertainers and boast of being true blue multistarrers.

Other than these films, he has also been signed up for Anubhav Sinha's AIRPORT where he co-stars with Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Arjun Rampal while Firoz Nadiadwala has roped him in HERA PHERI 3.

Suniel Shetty's new production 'Raaste'

Suniel Shetty held the project close to his heart for quite a while now. He wanted to announce it at an appropriate time, at an appropriate event. Now it can be told!

Suniel has joined hands with Shobha and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms for RAASTE, which will star Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Sikandar [son of Anupam and Kirron Kher, being introduced in WOODSTOCK VILLA] and Aishwarya Rai in principal roles.

Scripted and directed by Vikram Singh [it's his first project], this writer was amongst those present at G.I.F.A., Kuala Lumpur to witness the promo of the film. No faces of the stars were depicted, just racing of cars and captions that came along side each name. What one could gather was that the three friends turn foes because of one woman. Right, Suniel?

Surprisingly, Suniel isn't acting in any of his home-productions, be it BHAGAM BHAG [Ashtavinayak are his partners here] or RAASTE.
