Race - Movie Preview

Ranvir (Saif Ali Khan) and Rajiv (Akshaye Khanna) are half brothers who own a huge stud farm in Durban, South Africa. They breed horses on their huge ranch house and are also the biggest bookies in the horse racing circuit.

Ranvir, the elder of the two, is known to be a very shrewd man. He is very aggressive, and is always on the move. His half brother Rajiv, on the other hand, is very laid back and is also a chronic alcoholic.

Sophia (Katrina Kaif) is Ranvir's personal secretary. She adores her boss and loves him. Ranvir is totally unaware of her feeling and regards her adoration as her efficiency.

Shaina (Bipasha Basu) is an upcoming Indian ramp model in Durban. She and Ranvir share a very beautiful relationship, which is just on the borderline of love.

R.D. (Anil Kapoor) is a flamboyant police detective who lives by his wits. He has a strange addiction to fruits. He provides the film with witty humor and a very intriguing murder investigation.

Mini (Sameera Reddy) is R.D's personal assistant. She is as dumb as a blonde can be, in spite of being a brunette.

Shaina loves Ranvir, but through a twist of fate, gets married to his younger brother Rajiv. When she discovers that Rajiv is a chronic alcoholic, her world is shattered.

Ranvir too is disturbed, as he has sacrificed his love for his younger brother, because Rajiv had promised him that if he gets married to Shaina, he will leave alcohol forever.

Rajiv, after getting married, breaks his promise and the story starts getting complicated. In a weak moment, Ranvir and Shaina come very close to each other, and an affair starts between the younger brother's wife and the elder brother.

When the younger brother starts suspecting his wife, all hell breaks loose.

A murder is committed, a contract killing is issued, double crossings become the order of the day, betrayals are executed at the blink of an eye, and a point comes where you cannot pick the good from the bad, the evil from the righteous and the tame from the wild.

A sharp tongued detective, R.D, getting wise on the proceedings, starts an intriguing investigation with his brainless bimbo assistant, Mini, and the story starts to move at a breakneck speed, full of unexpected twists and turns making the climax of the movie impossible to predict.

A back drop of horse racing, the beautiful locales of Durban and edge of the seat excitement are the crux of this thriller.

Characters

Ayesha Takia as Seher - She can imitate a thousand different cartoon characters and that's what makes her such a wanted dubbing artiste. Then she finds herself 'wanted' in a different sense altogether - by gangsters, by taxi drivers and by the cops - as a murder suspect.

Ajay Devgan as ACP Rajveer Randhva - He is the brave, bad cop, who loves his ice cream cones as much as he loves chasing criminals. But what he loves most is letting them off for a hefty bribe! Then suddenly Rajvir finds himself embroiled in a murder mystery where the prime suspect is none other that his fiancée - Seher!

Arshad Warsi as Ballu - His red Ambassador taxi is just like him - bright, optimistic and full of beans. He has no hassles about stuffing too many tourists into his taxi or giving a lift to a strange, giggling girl in the middle of the night. What does bug him is when the girl disappears without paying him his fare!

Irrfan Khan as Kumar - Ballu's bum chum and budding actor. He can play lawyer, Ravan, Dracula, don at the drop of a hat, but when he meets a girl who claims she's a dead woman, he drops all his acts and scoots like hell.

Storyline

A dead body found floating in a lake. Unexplained scratch marks on her neck. Supari killers out to kill her. A taxi driver who yells 'bhoot, bhoot' every time he sees her.

Sehar's (Ayesha Takia) world turns topsy-turvy when she gets a clue about the missing Sunday of her life, which points to a possible violent attack on her. A.C.P Rajvir (Ajay Devgan) takes up the case to sort out the complicated and jumbled up threads of Sehar's life.

In the process of solving Sehar's case it comes to light that on Sunday, different people interacted with her and amongst them, one could be the accused.

The lot included Ballu (Arshad Warsi), the taxi driver and his friend, Kumar (Irrfan Khan), a struggling NSD actor, Ritu (Anjana Sukhani), Sehar's close friend, a scary and suspicious character who resides in Sehar's society, and the group whom she had come across while partying at the discotheque.

While trying to solve the puzzle, Rajveer stumbles upon a murder case whose clues hold up Sehar to be the culprit.

Seher is at first amused, then mystified and then terrified when she realises she has a connection with all these totally unconnected incidents.

But she cannot remember anything.

Her fiancée ACP Rajveer Randhava is convinced that Seher is innocent, but he is also equally sure that she is linked to everything.

Then another dead body is found. And the bracelet found near the corpse belongs to Seher. The evidence is mounting and all dingers point ay Seher.

And still, Seher does not remember anything.

Is Seher really as innocent as she claims to be? A dubbing artiste by day, is she also a serial killer by night? Is her bubbly charm but a mask that hides her darker, menacing self?

As Seher desperately fights the fog that clouds her treacherous memory, ACP Rajveer has to fight the fact that the woman he wants to marry may well be a murderer and worse.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Sunday has music by Shibani Kashyap/Dj Suketu and the movie is slated for January, 2008 release.

Aaja Nachle - Movie Preview

Characters

Dia (Madhuri Dixit)
She was the life of Shamli. And then she made one mistake - she fell in love. The town never forgave her and she never forgave the town. She made a new life, far away from her past. But now the man, who taught her how to dance and how to live, is no more. And he has left behind a job for her. She has to go back to the town...and teach it how to dance again.

Radha (Dalai)
Her mother may be born in Shamli, but Radha is so born in New York. She knows less Hindi than an Indian parrot and has more ideas on managing her mom's life than a shrink. The only problem is that Shamli is not in New York. And everybody except for Radha knows this.

Doctor (Raghubir Yadav)
Nobody knows what his real name is, but Ajanta's old caretaker wears a cap on his head and many hearts on his sleeve, all bleeding for the cause of theatre. He is Dia's support system in her fight, which becomes a battle and then a war.

Imran (Kunal Kapoor)
Local toughie, Imran, believes that tough guys don't dance and romance is for wimps. Unfortunately for him, Dia thinks otherwise and makes him the lead actor in her theatrical production, where he has to do only two things - dance and romance. He has seen a lot of rough stuff, but is Imran prepared for this?

Anokhi (Konkona Sen)
Anokhi, is a force of nature, not truly subject to control. Whether it is her perpetually running nose, or her penchant of coming up with the most imaginative abuses. Anokhi is truly anokhi (different). Dia finds something unique in her and takes the chance of her life. Trouble is, Anokhi cannot sing or dance to save her life, or Dia's.

Mohan Sharma (Ranvir Shorey)
Owner of the town café, Mohan nurses a decade-old story of unrequited love. Dia's sudden arrival leaves him feeling vulnerable again. Although he is initially confused about his feelings, Mohan gradually comes around to assisting Dia in her endeavour to save Ajanta, even though this could open old wounds.

Mr. Chojar (Vinay Pathak)
Chojar saab, in his own words, is Shamli's responsible government official. His relationship with his boss can be summed up in two words: "Yes Sir", spoken with eyes examining the floor; and that with the rest of the world in four words: "Put it in writing", spoken with a sense of mysterious knowingness. From the day Dia moved into his home as a paying guest, his married life is in upheaval. But sometimes, upheaval is good.

Chaudhary Om Singh (Akhilendra Mishra)
Chaudhary Om Singh, the local ex-MLA is a typical politician - he never takes a stand in any issue. A snake in search of opportunities, he is out of power since the last election. And Dia's arrival has given him just the issue he needed. Or has it?

Sanjeev Mehta (Jugal Hansraj)
Accountant Sanjeev Mehta joins Dia's troupe to sell insurance policies and stocks, not to dance. But as the dancing starts, he enters a world which his accountant mind had never imagined before.

S.H.O. Singh (Yashpal Sharma)
As a young constable he saw his friend Mohan go to pieces when he had his heart broken, a decade ago. As he watches Mohan help Dia in her mission, Station House Officer Singh has only one aim - to protect Mohan from another heart-break. But how does he protect a man from himself?

Dhan Kuber (Nowaz)
Irrepressible, outspoken, liberal, Dhan Kuber is last thing a vagabond should be. But ever since Dia has come back, nothing in Shamli is as it should be. And now he has to choose whose side he is on - the town which feeds his stomach, or the woman who feeds his soul.

Makarand (Darshan Zariwala)
It's a pity Makarand is no more. Because if he was, he would love to be in this story. How do you introduce a man who is so many things? Artist, singer, writer, dancer, philosopher, hippie... he is the man who taught young Dia how to dance and how to live. The man who single handedly kept dance alive in Shamli, till the modern age caught up with his art. And the man who died leaving his favourite pupil some homework - to teach dance to a town that has forgotten it.

Synopsis

After nearly a decade, an unexpected phone call shakes Dia (Madhuri Dixit) out of her dance rehearsal in New York. Makarand (Darshan Zariwala), her teacher, her guru, is dying and she must return to Shamli town. The town where she grew up, the town where she learnt to live and to dance. Also the town she left on an impulse, severing ties with her parents and her people.

It is a poignant and troubled return; not only has her guru passed away but the institution that he so lovingly nurtured is in decay and under threat of demolition. Ajanta theatre, the once vibrant hub of the community, the place where Dia's fondest memories are embedded must now be brought down because the local political authorities feel it a waste of prime real estate.

With the help of Doctor (Raghubir Yadav), the caretaker of Ajanta, Dia sets out on a mission to prevent the destruction and resurrect the spirit of Ajanta. In an atmosphere of mistrust, ridicule and active hostility, Dia picks up the gauntlet and agrees to achieve the near impossible task of putting together a theatrical production.

She must also ensure that every member of the production is from Shamli town. She has only two months to prove her point or the bulldozers will be waiting.

In this context begins her tumultuous journey of dealing with small town prejudices, encountering the resentment of the powerful contractor, the cynicism of the local political powers, resolve the delicate tensions of inter personal relationships and rally her motley team of non starters - a low level muscle Imran (Kunal Kapoor), the local tomboy Anokhi (Konkona Sen), local ex-MLA Chaudhary Om Singh (Akhilendra Mishra), a vulnerable tea stall owner Mohan Sharma (Ranvir Shorey), a responsible government official Mr. Chojar (Vinay Pathak), a struggling insurance agent Sanjeev Mehta (Jugal Hansraj), the town vagabond Dhankuber (Nowaz) and a host of others.

She must create in this chaos in order to save Ajanta... in order to preserve what her guru so lovingly nurtured. She must create art in order to preserve what she believes is the soul of society.

Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Anil Mehta, Aaja Nachle has music by Salim-Sulaiman and the movie is slated for November 30 release.

Tony manages to convince Sunny to play for Southall United. It takes a while before Shaan and the team warms up to Sunny. With Sunny joining Southall United the team gradually starts climbing the points tally. The city council is worried.

So when Chutki joins his advertising agency, he dismisses her as a small town girl. But Chutki's spunk, spirit, and insights blow him away. She matches him barb for barb, retort for retort and he finds that he is head over heels in love. Vivaan and Chutki's chemistry is so potent; they set off sparks when they are in the same room. They forget the rest of the world as they revel in each other's company. What is happening between the two is like a flower just beginning to blossom. Bhool Bhulaiyaa - Movie Preview

This movie is an interesting thriller-comedy which amuses the audience and simultaneously grips the audience's interests by the mysterious turn of events.

The backdrop of the film revolves around a small village where the people are very conservative and superstitious.

Badri (Manoj Joshi) heads a Brahmin family whose ancestral palace is believed to be haunted. One day, Siddharth (Shiney Ahuja) and Avni (Vidya Balan), the son and daughter-in-law of Badri's elder brother return to their native village from America.

Events take on a twist when some unnatural events start taking place inside the palace. The blame comes to rest squarely on Radha (Amisha Patel), the adopted daughter of Badri.

Suddenly a psychiatrist from America, Dr. Aditya (Akshay Kumar) enters the scene. He is Siddharth's friend and uses modern analytical techniques to find out the culprit and solve the mystery. The film becomes a roller coaster ride from this point onwards.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a perfect blend of thrill and humor revealing undiscovered dimensions of human psychology which many of us could never even have imagined.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar and directed by Priyadarshan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa has music by Pritam and the movie is slated for an October 12 release.
