When it comes to being experimental and gutsy, there is no female in Bollywood who can compete with Bipasha!

Known for initiating the short-is-in trend last year, the sultry actress is once again sporting a stunning short bob.

Absolutely chic and classy, her first public appearance with the new hair do was at the MTV Hero Honda Roadies event in Mumbai, which really made heads turn.

Adding the ultimate touch to Bipasha's new look, are the copper and reddish brown hair tones.

If you are wondering what prompted Bipasha to chop off her wavy locks even before it is summer, it was just the need for that 'change'.

It seems, Bips just called up Sapna Bhavnani - her hair stylist - and told her that she would drop in the next day to have a short crop. What followed was a two-hour session which ended up in Bips getting a trendy, classic bob cut!

"Bipasha is one of those few people in Bollywood who love to experiment with their hair. Also, what works in her favour is the fact that her hair is luscious, thick and silky.

Her attitude for style is unlike most of the other actresses who prefer to play safe with long hair. I am hopeful that Bipasha's bob will become a rage among fans in the coming season," says Sapna.

Ok Sapna, we'll see, if this hairstyle really becomes a rage!

Happy Birthday, Bipasha!

Bipasha Basu is turning a year older today, and she would be celebrating her special day with beau John Abraham in Goa.

"I'll spend my day tanning on the sunny beach and trying to swim. I'll also be visiting the spa. And of course I'll be trying out the most delicious Goan food. The birthday is the high point of a divine holiday."

But Bipasha's celebrations don't end there!

"We're coming back on the 8th to celebrate the birthday again with my parents and close friends. Like she does on my birthday every year, Mom will cook all my favourite food that surely includes gajar ka halwa."

Bollywood babes performing on New Year's Eve

It's that time of the year when everyone says Goodbye! to the year gone by and get all geared up to say Welcome! to the New Year.

In between the departure of the old year and the advent of New Year lies something like the midnight for which everyone waits with bated breath, to welcome the New Year with open arms.

For the urban crowd, the New Year celebrations include shelling out money in some of the 5 star mega structured hotels to see some of the Bollywood heroines, performing live.

But the flip side of the coin is that this money gets translated into a pot-full of moolah, for these heroines, and these pot-full goes to the tunes of anywhere between a few lakhs till crores, depending upon the saleability quotient of the star.

Topping this year's pricey-list is none other than Bipasha Basu who will be performing at the JW Marriott, Juhu.

She is reportedly said to be charging a staggering Rs 90 lakhs!

The costs of the tickets are kept at Rs 11,500 per person (including taxes and food). But then, who needs booze when the intoxicating Bips is around!

Though some portion of the market says that the figures have just been exaggerated (and that the actual figures rest at Rs 72 lakhs), whereas the other portion of the market says that the figure quoted is lesser than what she is charging (and that the actual figures rest at a staggering Rs 1.23 crores!)

Rumors have it that come what may, Bipasha cannot be a Mallika Sherawat as the latter's pull is far greater than the former.

Last year, Mallika pulled off a show-stopper of a show with a price tag attached of Rs 50 lakhs for a half-an-hour performance!

The Drama Queen Rakhi Sawant, along with her boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi and DJ Whosane, will also be performing on New Year's Eve.

You can find all of them performing at Tulip Star Hotel, Juhu. The charges here are Rs 7000 for a couple entry with unlimited food and drinks.

Rakhi is reported to have charged the organizers a whopping Rs 51 lakhs for her performance!

Rumors are also rife that Rakhi will make the most of this platform to project her angst against Star TV for their allegedly rigged voting system in Nach Baliye, where she and her boyfriend Abhishek lost to Sanjeeda Sheikh and Aamir Ali.

Not far behind are Tanushree Dutta and Koena Mitra, who will be joined along with the songster Mika in Sahara Star, Mumbai.

The rates of the tickets here are priced at Rs 20,000 for couples and Rs 11,500 for singles.

Koena is supposedly charging the organizers Rs 27 lakhs for her 16 minute performance whereas Tanushree Dutta has been signed up for Rs 15 lakhs for her 24 minutes performance.

The next in row are an array of celebrities who will be India-trotting as a part of their New Year performances:

Amrita Arora (performing in Bangalore) and Malaika Arora (performing in Delhi)

Neha Dhupia - performing in Ahmedabad.

Udita Goswami - performing in Pune.

One of the event organizers said, "The charges of these stars are directly proportional to their popularity. Malaika Arora command easily upto Rs 25-30 lakhs whereas Amrita Arora charges Rs 12 lakhs.

Neha Dhupia charges anywhere between Rs 15-20 lakhs and Udita Goswami, who used to charge Rs 15 lakhs for any performance earlier, has now reduced to Rs 5-8 lakhs."

With so much happening this New Year's Eve, who wouldn't wanna be a sell-e-brity!!

Bipasha Basu: A Business woman?

Bipasha Basu has found a new craze - sports!

One isn't too sure if its Goal or sports-crazed boyfriend John Abraham that did this to her.

Anyway, ask her about her plans to launch some signature line just like John has done and she says, "There are no plans as of now. But in the future I might just do something."

And just what would that something be? "It would have to be a sportswear line of clothing," she says.

Bipasha to make her debut in Bengali cinema

Bipasha Basu, the actress of Bengali origin, will be making her debut in Bengali films now!

Rituparno Ghosh will be directing the film and Bipasha would be paired opposite Bengali actor Prasenjeet.

The shooting for the film would begin by next month although the film is yet to be named.

She was earlier supposed to do another film titled Draupadi with Rituparno Ghosh but nothing much has happened since the announcement.

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has been named the sexiest Asian woman in the world in 2007 by a leading London-based Asian newspaper.

Legendary Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit is the runner-up while last year's winner Priyanka Chopra is placed third by Eastern Eye newspaper.

The top ten women are - Bipasha Basu, Madhuri Dixit, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Laila Rouass, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Iman Ali.

Commenting on her selection, Bipasha said, "I am glad I got the crown back and will try and hold onto it this time.

I think sexiness goes beyond just looks and is a total package, from your personality to the way you carry yourself in your every day life. I'm really grateful to whoever voted for me because I work very hard."

Bipasha in Rajkumar Santoshi's Ashoka

Bipasha Basu has been signed by Rajkumar Santoshi for his forthcoming film, Ashoka.

Bipasha will be seen in the role of Kaurwaki earlier played by Kareena Kapoor in Santosh Sivan's Asoka.

Confirming the news director Rajkumar Santoshi says, "We will begin shooting Ashoka at the end of February. It's an historical film. Bipasha is paired with Ajay Devgan who plays the title role."

John-Bipasha shoot a music video for Goal

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu participated in a music video shoot in Mumbai's Future Studios for their upcoming next, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal.

This video will be used for promotional purposes of the film and will also feature in the end credit titles.

Director Vivek Agnihotri says, "The song we shot is a very interesting one featuring the lead pair, John and Bipasha.


It begins with John trying to woo Bipasha but she keeps giving him a cold shoulder and he tries various tricks to win her heart. Ultimately, only when he comes back to her as a footballer, does she succumb to his charms."

Bipasha in Ben Kingsley's film on Taj Mahal

Bipasha Basu will be the second Bollywood actress to play an important role in Sir Ben Kingsley's Mughal epic.

The film, to be co-produced by Kingsley, will have the British actor himself essaying the role of Shahjahan while Aishwarya Rai will play his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Sir Ben wants Bipasha Basu to play Shahjahan's daughter Jahan Ara Begum, who looked after her ailing father after he was imprisoned in his old age (by son Aurangzeb) in a citadel from where he continuously gazed at Taj Mahal, the monument of love he had got built for his love Mumtaz .

It is learnt that Kingsley talked about this project with Bipasha when they came together to host the New Seven Wonders event in Lisbon in July this year.

Bipasha has reportedly agreed to be a part of the project but her dates are yet to be sorted out.

The movie will go on the floors early next year and will be shot in Agra and Fatehpur Sikri.

Bipasha Basu bags 2 Hollywood projects

Bollywood hottie Bipasha Basu is all set to make her presence felt in Hollywood now!

Bipasha caught the attention of many people throughout the world when she hosted the New Seven Wonders of the World event in Lisbon in July with Hollywood stars Hilary Swank and Ben Kingsley.

After that, Bipasha signed Simone Sheffield as her manager in Hollywood. Simone is already the international manager of Aishwarya Rai.

Talking about Bipasha 's foray into Hollywood, Simone told a Mumbai-based tabloid that Bipasha will work in two English movies to be made by prominent Hollywood studios.

Simone further adds that Bipasha has got another Hollywood offer on the table but things are not yet finalized because the male star of the film is still to be decided.

While Simone refuses to reveal anything about these projects, there is a rumor going around that Bipasha is being considered for a plum role in the future episodes of famous TV series Lost.

Of late, Bollywood beauties have begun catching a lot of attention in Hollywood.

Porn maker wants Bipasha!

Richard Menon, an Indian- American porn filmmaker says if given a chance he would like to approach the dusky Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu for one of his movies!

"She has everything, beauty, class, smartness and professionalism. For an Indian gal, I would like to do a soft core film showing her real beauty," said Richard.

When CNN-IBN tried to get in touch with Bipasha, they were told she doesn't want to say anything and create another controversy.

"After Saif and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo 's link up, Bipasha is off press, she has nothing to comment on this," says her friend.

Porn czar Menon thinks India is slowly opening up to the porn industry, which is so far illegal in the country.

"Things are changing. Playboy is here. Debonair has been there for decades. Royal Magazine has just made its entry and there are dozens of Indian porn sites managed by Indians on the Internet. I guess a new genre of soft porn films may develop in Bollywood if someone takes the lead."

UTV has extensive promotion plans for John-Bipasha starrer Goal

Real life lovers John Abraham and Bipasha Basu will travel across India to promote their upcoming movie Goal.

As per the promotional strategy, John will begin visiting several schools and colleges across India in the coming weeks. During these visits, John will interact with young students and will also play football with them.

Bipasha Basu and other members of the cast will also join John in some of these visits, depending on their availability.

It is learnt that after the success of Yashraj Films' presentation Chak De India, folks at UTV are keen to promote Goal in a big way.

The film has both John and Arshad playing football players. Bipasha plays their team's medic. Boman Irani plays the coach.


Goal has been directed by Vivek Agnihotri and will hit the theatres in October.

Bipasha Basu to feature in mobile games

Mobile gamers and fans of Bipasha Basu have a lot to look forward to.

Games publishing company Jump Games announced its two-year, worldwide contract with her to create and distribute a serial of mobile games featuring the glamorous Bollywood actor.

The first game of the series will be titled Bipasha Basu Jet Ski Champ.

In the game Bipasha will be seen as a master Jet Ski rider challenging the world's best to an adrenalin-pumping jet-ski ride across exotic circuits.

"This is something novel for me and I am looking forward to a fruitful gamming association with Jump Games. Through these games my fans will get to see the athletic, adventurous and skillful side of me," said Bipasha, who is an avid sports fan.

In India, Jump's games can be accessed and played on networks like Hutch, Idea, BSNL and Reliance World.

Though the duo refuses to comment on their relationship, Bipasha Basu confirmed they have come together for a sizzling item song in Anurag Kashyap's No Smoking.


"I don't think I want to talk about my personal life any more. What's happening there is for me to know. But, yes, John and I have come together professionally again after Goal, this time with an item song in Anurag Kashyap's No Smoking," Bipasha said.

What about the danger of being branded an item girl?

"When have I cared about my image?" Bipasha shrugged. "And besides I've full faith in the intelligence of the film industry, also my audiences. By now they know what I'm capable of, and it's not just items."

Bipasha gets intimate with Saif!

Bipasha Basu and Saif Ali Khan have just shot an intense lovemaking sequence for their forthcoming film, Race.

A hush-hush affair, apparently, all crew members except for the director duo, Abbas Mustan, and the cinematographer were asked to leave the sets, when these scenes were being shot.

It's Official: John-Bipasha call it quits!

Bong bombshell Bipasha and John Abraham have finally called it quits.

According to a report from the Times Group's news channel Times Now, they have separated. The channel quotes close friends of the couple Rocky S.

Bipasha has apparently told her close friend, "I am single for the first time in ten years."

First it was Dino, then it was Saif and of course lately it was soccer superstar Ronaldo - it was clear that Bipasha Basu was a woman on the prowl.

While she and John did their best to pretend for a period of time that all were well, it looks like the burden finally got to Bips.
