Saif Rushed To Hospital - Chest Pains
On Sunday, Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Leelavati hospital in Mumbai after complaining of chest pain; he was admitted to ICU. While an angiography was conducted, Saif's sister, Soha, and other family members waited at the hospital. Many film stars and eminent film personalities attended Leelavati to see Saif.
Meanwhile Leelavati Hospital sources said Saif is out of danger, but kept him under supervision.
"It is nothing serious. It is only a precautionary measure that he has been admitted," said Director Sudheer Mishra.
Saif won Star Dust Award for best performance in a negative role for Omkara and was rehearsing for his performance at the awards function when the incident took place.
Recently, Saif quit smoking and joined an anti-tobacco campaign. In an effort to help him give up cigarettes, he has started drinking a lot of water.
He described smoking as disgusting and said it was "a killer." However, the star said he was unsure how long he would be able to stay away from cigarettes.
According to health experts, teenagers who watch films in which stars smoke are three times more likely to try smoking, and those whose favorite stars are seen to light up on screen are 16 times more likely to have a positive attitude regarding smoking.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) says tobacco claims 5 million lives a year. According to government statistics, more than 800,000 Indians die each year from smoking-related illnesses.
