John Abraham injured himself filming Goal
John Abraham is home after a long shooting schedule in London, where he was shooting for Vivek Agnihotri's Goal. As the film is based on football, it had its fair share of injured actors on the sets.
For starters, John injured his shin and had to undergo acupressure treatment and also had to visit a physiotherapist regularly.
Director Vivek Agnihotri says, "John hurt himself while we were in London. It happened while we were filming the climax scene of Goal. It is the most important match in the film. John was on the field with all the other actors and that's when he felt this sudden pain in his shin and fell down. Since we were working on this football scene for many days, he had gradually, though unknowingly, injured himself seriously. He had to do a lot of running around and it was very cold in London. We immediately called a doctor and a physiotherapist. John was in a lot of pain."
Agnihotri further adds, "John also had to undergo acupressure treatment. The pain made him very uncomfortable but we managed to pull through with the shoot somehow. There was one more guy who had a major shoulder injury, and Raj Zutshi also injured himself while we were shooting."
The important football match was reportedly shot at the Manchester United Stadium. John and the rest of the cast were trained by Andy Ansah who had specially flown down to Mumbai to train them before the crew left for London.
