Shilpa moves SC over kissing row

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty today (May 14) moved Supreme Court seeking a stay on the criminal proceedings initiated against her in various police stations in connection with the Richard Gere kiss row.

A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan listed the matter for hearing on Tuesday (May 15).

The actress had sought quashing of criminal cases registered against her at Jodhpur, Ghaziabad and Munawar (Halwar) police stations.

Hollywood star Richard Gere's kiss on Shilpa's cheeks during an AIDS awareness programme in the capital last month had evoked strong protests in several cities.
