Walt Disney+Yash Raj Films=Toon Magic!

One of the largest media and entertainment corporations in the world, Walt Disney, is tying up with India's biggest movie production house, Yashraj Films, to co-produce animated films in Bollywood

The alliance, to be announced shortly, will increase Disney's presence in the Indian market. The Disney global studio head, Richard Cook, is arriving in India on Tuesday to seal the deal with Yashraj. Yashraj Films declined to comment on the development, but said details of the deal would be announced on Tuesday.

Global media and entertainment companies are increasingly eyeing the buoyant Indian market to set up shop. Hollywood studios have realised that to break into the Indian market, it is essential to localise content.

The recent past has witnessed a spate of deals, including Viacom's venture with the TV18 Group, News Corp 's regional content deal with Balaji Telefilms and Disney's purchase of UTV's Hindi children's' channel, Hungama.
