Ad-men rejoice over Ash-Abhi hook up

BRAND BACHCHAN: The company which manages to rope in all four Bachchans in one ad will dance all the way to the bank.
Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and now Ashwarya Rai. Four celebrities under one roof! Could their fans and our advertisers ask for anything more?

Yes Brand Bachchan is getting bigger and stronger and it's something that the bad ad world is banking on. Roping in these four big names for one commercial is going to be quite a deal.

Says Executive Director, Ogilvy India, Piyush Pandey "All the four stars have their own clientele. Amitabh Bachchan has lakhs and so do Ash and Abhi, but the guy who decides to put the three of them together in one ad is going to have one hell of a time getting dates from them."


If one is to value the Bachchan family as of today - taking into consideration the money in the ad and film world riding on them - media watchers say the figure could shoot up anywhere between Rs 600 to 700 crore.

Says GM, Starcom Entertainment, Pranay Anthwal, "The Bachchans are the first family of the industry and I'm sure that there are ad guys who have already started talking to them."

Unbelievably, only the news of Ash and Abhi getting together has apparently given a boost to the products these actors endorse.

Says GM Marketing, LG electronics, Sandeep Tiwari, "There wedding is a great coincidence because even our ad campaign is centered around a guy trying to woo his lady love and now with this it will add to Abhishek's equity as well as ours."

While friends and family will be seen dancing in the barat, the Bachchans are dancing their way to the bank and we guess so will the company which manages to rope in all the four Bachchans in one ad!
