Deol trio wow Delhi

You've seen them sizzle on the silver screen to the rhythm of Bollywood tunes, but this time, Hema Malini and her daughters Esha and Ahana were dancing to a rather different tune in the capital.

It was an evening of colour, culture and stars, and a Delhi that is rather used to seeing them in 70mm, got to see the trio live. But there wasn't anything filmy about it. Bollywood's dream girl Hema Malini and her daughters Esha and Ahana Deol performed a scintillating classical dance recital.

For all their on-screen capers, the classical strain continues to run in the family, though unlike their mother both Esha and Ahana chose to learn Odissi, while Malini continues her quest for perfection in Bharatnatyam. But all this song and dance was not without a purpose.

Say Malini, "The performance was for the benefit of girls especially young children. That is why I chose to perform with both my daughters."

While Esha and Ahana's recital drew quite a bit of applause, it was Malini's superlative performance that kept the Dilliwalas enraptured.
