'Being Cyrus' director's next film

What is Homi Adajania making next? After winning accolades for his directorial debut BEING CYRUS, Homi is working on a true story set in the East in 1908. “It’s a bizarre story that happened in East Bengal. I’ll fictionalize it for moviegoers to decipher,” Homi says.

There’s talk that Saif Ali Khan, who enacted the principal role in BEING CYRUS, will produce the film. “Let me explain! Dinesh Vijan, one of the producers of BEING CYRUS, has joined hands with Saif to produce films jointly. And the project that I am making next has been developed with Dinesh, so I guess people are under the impression that Saif is producing the film,” Homi clarifies.

Is Saif starring in the film? “As of now, the casting is unclear. He’s not part of the film at the moment. But he may be/may be not tomorrow. As I said, there’s not much clarity on the casting right now,” Homi states. The talented film-maker begins filming this mega-venture in 2008, exactly 100 years after the incident occurred in the East.

Speaking of stars, Homi hasn’t approached Aamir Khan for any of his projects, although they share a good rapport. “There’s a time for everything. When we have the right project, we’ll definitely work together. He’s currently tied up with his home-productions. We do discuss films, he is very generous when I seek advice, he’s a fantastic guy. But I don’t believe in asking for favors,” Homi reveals.

Before Homi embarks on the above-mentioned film project next year, there’s a possibility that he might start another film this year. “This one’s an English film. It’s based in Goa. It’s about a journey a set of people undertake, but have no destination to reach,” Homi discloses. It’s currently being written by an author, who’ll hand over the work to Homi to work on the screenplay.

The working title of the film is A DREAM BEFORE SLEEPING.
