Buy iPod and get Water free!

Deepa Mehta’s Water is all set for a worldwide release. As a part of the promotion for this Oscar-nominated film, BR Films and Sony BMG have devised a path breaking marketing tactic.

They have decided to release the music of Water along with iPod models. This means that an audio CD of the film will be pre-packed with every model of 1GB iPod Shuffle. The CD will also contain 78 complimentary songs, all composed by the talented A. R. Rahman. Rahman, who had earlier composed music for Deepa Mehta’s Fire and Earth, is also the music director for Water. Sony BMG and BR Films claim that this is the first film ever to release its music on iPod.

Water stars John Abraham and Lisa Ray in a totally new image. With actors like Seema Biswas on the roll, speaking about an urgent social issue in India, Water comes across as a promising film. It is slated for a March 9 release this year.
