Tulip Joshi's film to premiere in the land of Tulips

After doing the highly acclaimed film Matrabhoomi, Tulip Joshi is back with the much awaited film Shoonya. The film is directed by Arindam Mitra (who is also the producer of Black Friday) who considers 'Shoonya' to be the modern-day interpretation of T.S Eliot's 'Murder in the Cathedral'

The film will be premiered at the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam in Holland (Jan 24- Feb 4, 2007). The Rotterdam Festival is considered unique and a treasured space because it gives talented filmmakers a gamut of films making process, from advising on scripts, marketing of films, gaining contracts and finance provided by Hubert Bals Funds to deserving films.

The story of the film revolves around a cricket star and his tryst with fame and adulation. The director has cleverly made use of the money generating spectrum of sports in which conscience ends up being a pawn in the hands of outside forces and vested interest.

The film will see stunning performances by some of the best in the industry, right from Nasseruddin Shah, Kay Kay Menon, Tulip Joshi, Seema Biswas , Satish Kaushik and Ninad Kamat. This does seems to be one power packed film to watch out for.
