Stars troop in for Ash-Abhi sangeet
The festivities have finally begun.

Last night saw the first among the three-day ceremonies of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's wedding. The Sangeet, held at Prateeksha-Amitabh's bungalow in suburban Juhu- saw a huge turnout of fans, media and film personalities. Even though the media was not allowed to enter the premises of the bungalow, one could spot the guests entering through the gates.

Among the first ones to arrive was Ajay Devgan and wife Kajol.

The evening also started with the Ambanis arriving for the sangeet, followed by film personalities like Preity Zinta, Prem Chopra and director Raj Kanwar.

Sanjay Dutt was one of the few stars to acknowledge the presence of the media and fans, and waved at everyone.

Karan Johar, who is rumoured to have choreographed Abhishek's dance at the sangeet was next to arrive. It is said that Bachchan Jr danced to Omkara's Beedi Jalayele.Standing behind him is Uday Chopra, childhood friend of Abhishek.

Ram Gopal Varma, who recently directed Amitabh Bachchan in Nishabd, wears green to the sangeet. The director will also direct Amitabh in his forthcoming film, Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay.

Ashutosh Gowarikar arrived with wife Sunita. His upcoming film, Jodha Akbar, stars Aishwarya Rai opposite Hrithik Roshan. This will be Ash's first release after her wedding.

Danny Denzonpa has been a close friend of Amitabh, as they had worked in quite a few movies like Kohram, Khuda Gawah and Agneepath.

Among the other guests were producer Romesh Sharma (who launched his son Karan in Dil Jo Bhi Kahey, co-starring Amitabh), Shweta Bachchan's mother-in-law and Raj Kapoor's daughter Ritu Nanda, Suniel Shetty and wife Mana, Rishi Kapoor and wife Neetu Singh, Kirron Kher and son Sikander, Yash and wife Pamela Chopra and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
