According to Joginder Tuteja from Glamsham, when Namastey London was released at the time when cricket World Cup was at its exciting best with India being in a do or die situation to move to the next round, there was laughter and mocking all around since it seemed like an unsensible call by its makers.

There were hardly many who gave the film much of a chance even though it was backed by fantastic promotion.

Ultimately Vipul Shah and Akshay Kumar had the final laugh as the film opened to a very good response and sustained quite well at the box office. Collections also stayed stable due to the fact that cricket lost its charms after India's exit and since there were not many films that posed competition in the later weeks, it was a clean run for
Namastey London.

All of this has resulted in the film completing its 50 days at the box office today. The film has so far collected close to 37 crores from just the Indian box office while even in overseas it has been a good success. Music by Himesh Reshammiya too has consistently played on for over 3 months now that has further helped in keeping the film in news.

First BIG success of Katrina Kaif and Upen Patel,
Namastey London is also special for Rishi Kapoor who got a chance to dig his teeth into something substantial after ages.

Third straight success of Vipul Shah and Akshay Kumar after Aankhen and Waqt, Namastey London is an all around HIT and is all set to do quite well even the DVD/satellite circles.
