PNC wins Remi award for Pyaar Ke Side Effects

The very prestigious Remi Award for Creative Excellence at the 40th Annual WorldFest- Houston International Film and Video Festival 2007 was won by Pritish Nandy Communications last week for its film Pyar Ke Side Effects starring Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose.

Out of more than 4,500 international category entries, this Bollywood movie directed by Saket Chowdhury has won this trophy. It is the second time PNC has won such a prestigious award at the WorldFest in Houston. The earlier one was for Jhankaar Beats which won the trophy for Best Comedy Feature in 2004.


More than 500 international film makers attended the 10 day festival in Houston. The Remi, named after the famous Texan artist Frederick Remington, is the among the festival's most important awards. The festival is the third oldest in North America and one of the most prestigious in the world.

"Saket, Mallika and Rahul made Pyar Ke Side Effects one of last year's most successful movies in India and we are now glad that one of the world's most respected film festivals, one that gave first honours to Spielberg, Lucas, David Lynch, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott, Brian de Palma and the Coen Brothers has chosen to recognize the film, award and validate its cinematic excellence. We are truly honoured," said Pritish Nandy, Chairman, PNC.
