Vishal Bharadwaj's next movie is inspired by Fearless Nadia

After making Maqbool, Omkara and Blue Umbrella, Vishal is now inspired from the life of Mary Evans, Bollywood's first stuntwoman who is better known as Fearless Nadia.

Nadia defied the convention by playing an action heroine in the 1935 movie Hunterwali in which she showed remarkable spunk that put many male actors of that era to shame.

For a period of 35 years (till 1970) Nadia worked in more than thirty Bollywood projects. She married director Homi Wadia. She lived in Mumbai until her death in 1996.

The story of Fearless Nadia has inspired Bharadwaj to make a film on her life. The director has been searching a suitable actress to play Nadia. He had approached Hollywood actress Uma Thurman but a deal could not be reached.

Meanwhile, Bharadwaj has been scouting for the film's shooting locations in West Bengal.

Stay tuned in!
