Salman Khan at Madame Tussauds!

Surrounded by fans, Salman Khan unveiled his wax figure at Madame Tussauds in United Kingdom, on tuesday.

Salman came to the venue in a white Bentley and accompanying him was his younger sister Arpita, Bobby Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

Salman beat nine other Indian mega stars - including Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Lata Mangeshkar and Abhishek Bachchan - to win a place at the world famous wax museum, after a public poll conducted last summer.

Salman's statue stands in a special Bollywood section, alongside those of three other Bollywood greats - Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan.

"The hair is thicker, no eye bags, no double chin, arms are bigger and the nose is sharper!" Those were the exact words of Salman Khan when he came face to face with his wax replica. Well, who else could have understood his look-alike better than the actor himself!
The heartthrob actor was measured and photographed by expert sculptors in Mumbai last October, to kick-start painstaking work on his wax double. He personally chose and donated clothes for the figure to wear.
Salman, himself, wore a long brown leather over-coat with his famous torn jeans (he was the one who started the trend of torn jeans in the Hindi Film Industry) and white glittery t-shirt. In short, he was looking dapper in this outfit, with his light brown hair and clean-shaven look.

Salman circled his wax figure by looking at it from top to bottom, when suddenly one of the journalists asked him whether his wax replica was the exact depiction of him in every department. The reply that came from Salman shocked everyone. "I still haven't looked properly. I mean inside his jeans!"

However, that wasn't enough for the 42 year old film Bollywood actor.

He said, "Even though I came in slightly later than Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan, I still think they all are following me. After today, I don't think there is any Bollywood actor who is worthy enough, to be standing next to me in Madame Tussauds."

I'm sure, Salman was just kidding...after all, we are well versed with his sense of humor!

He then added, "I think on a more serious note, Aamir Khan should have been the first one to be standing in Madame Tussauds."

Here's an interview he gave to the media, just before the unveiling of the statue.

One thing is for certain...January 15, 2008 will be best remembered as Salman Khan's day. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that he could not even take off his T-shirt!

Jokes apart, this will indeed be a proud day for all the Bollywood fans across the globe, and the Indian Film Industry.
