Salman Khan turns 41
On his birthday, if we were to make a wish list for him, what would perhaps top it would be the prayer to get him out of the numerous cases lodged against the actor in courts across India. In fact, Salman's scrapes with the law have become Bollywood folklore.
Salman's Controversies
From the time in May 2001, that Salman was called in by the Enforcement Directorate to be quizzed about his alleged links with the underworld, there's been a new controversy nearly every year.
In 2002, it was the notorious hit-and-run case in which Salman's drunken driving cost one man his life.
In 2003, he was accused by fellow actor Viveik Oberoi of harassing him and allegedly making threats of getting him killed.
And through 2006, he's been fighting yet another legal battle to save himself from going to jail yet again - this time in the Chinkara poaching case. But despite all these controversies, this Khan has not lost any bit of popularity with either his co-stars or his fans.
"Salman is not the monster that the world makes him out to be. He might not be media-friendly nor a smooth talker but he's got a very good heart. He's got one of the nicest hearts in the industry," confirms Preity Zinta.
Bollywood’s bachelor boy
His personal life too has been a roller-coaster ride. From much-publicised affairs and then break-ups with actresses Sangita Bijlani and Somy Ali, to his biggest link-up with Aishwarya Rai. But Bollywood's true blue bachelor boy has evaded holy matrimony easily till now.
But that's not going to be the case if Katrina Kaif has anything to do with it. But marriage or no, Salman Khan's life so far has been nothing short of a story from a Bollywood pot-boiler.
And on his birthday we wish that he has a better year ahead of him, than the one gone by. Happy 41st Birthday Salman!
