Shootout At Lokhandwala - Movie Preview

We have the preview of 'Shootout At Lokhandwala'..thanks to Vijay from MovieWalah .

From director Apoorva Lakhia comes Shootout At Lokhandwala, a shocking, hypnotic look at a real-life disaster. Based on the shootout in Lokhhandwala 1992, when commissioner of police, Aftaab Ahmed Khan, shot Dawood Ibrahim's aides including Maya Dolas and Dilip Bua. This caused massive controversy after it was rumored that Dawood asked for the shootings to take revenge on his aides who had fallen out with him.

The movie has some of the biggest stars in the industry. Meanwhile, Lakhia is all pepped up about his project. "Believe me, it wasn't tough! Abhishek and I have a pact that he'd star in every film I make and the pact has now extended to Mr. Bachchan too. Sanju is a friend plus the producer and Suniel too is a buddy. But, I admit, I did have problems casting guys on the 'other side of the law', namely Vivek Oberoi and Tusshar. Tusshar hadn't portrayed a negative character and was apprehensive initially. Vivek too didn't want to portray something he had attempted earlier, in COMPANY", Lakhia reveals. Suresh Nair has written the script along with inputs from Lakhia and Gupta.

Shootout At Lokhandwala is the story of a seasoned cop, Khan (Sanjay Dutt) who chased Khalistani extremists, handpicked cops like Inspector Kaviraj Patil and Constable Javed Shaikh, and dared to engage trigger-happy gangsters in a residential locality of Mumbai. Khan's fight went beyond the encounter as he faced inquisition from his own department and legal charges of human rights violations. Shootout At Lokhandwala is the story of an upcoming underworld gangster, Maya (Vivek Oberoi), and his highly skilled partner, Dilip (Tusshar). The two made extortion the buzzword in the early 90s and dared to disobey the big bhai of the underworld, drawing the attention of Khan and his newly formed ATS squad. Both Khan and Maya were men obsessed, so devoted to their professions that their personal lives were a disaster.

Sanjay Dutt plays the role of Additional Commissioner Aftab Ahmad Khan. Vivek Oberoi will play Maya Dolas, a mafia henchman who is killed in a police encounter. Tusshar Kapoor's all set to play a negative role of Bua, who was also killed in the shootout. Abhishek Bachchan will play the role of Abhishek Mahatre, another police inspector who played a key role in the shootout. Dia Mirza (Mita Matu), an earthy, refined and aggressive reporter while Aarti Chhabria plays Tarannum - a bar dancer. Tarannum's case has been in news for quite sometime and is still fresh in people's minds. Arbaaz Khan will be essaying the role of cop in the film. Every body has a different look as the film is inspired from a real life incident.

The film's score and soundtrack will be composed by leading Pakistani band, Strings, and top Indian bands, Indian Ocean and Euphoria, popular songwriter Biddu Appaiah and popular playback singers, Shibani Kashyap and Mika Mehndi. Cinematography for the movie is handled by Gururaj S. Jois, while the editing for the film is handled by Bunty Nagi.

well to tell u the fact....dilip was never an dawood aide....and the movie preview shows maya to be the real hero but he was hardly known to in the underworld at that point of of time. the movie portrays a wrong timeline when it says that maya was better known than dilip or buwa bhai.
