Shilpa's tears get noticed

Shilpa Shetty is paying a heavy price for the Rs. 3 crore she received to participate in the Britian's most popular celebrity reality show 'Big Brother' on Channel 4.

The actress is being bullied in the Big Brother house and is a victim of racist abuse, leaving the actress in tears every now and then. Remarks like "the dog", "the Indian" and "Paki" are the few names that have been labelled on the sexy actress.

Jack Tweedy, along with his girlfriend Jade, has been bitching about Shilpa, making offensive remarks against the dusky actress, calling her "you bloody Paki". The word 'Paki' as most know is a derogatory term used by the whites in UK and Canada to insult a South Asian.

Housemates Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara, referred to in the house as the "three bitches" have been behaving extremely hostile towards Shilpa.

When the former Miss Great Britain Danielle was criticised for being arrogant and passing racist comments on Shilpa, the lady replied: "I haven't bitched about no-one, apart from that one person. I don't like the food what she's been cooking and I don't like her fingering the food, but it doesn't mean that I dislike the girl."

Shilpa ShettyFortunately, the actress has found a friend in Jermaine who is said to have told Cleo: "Look at her face...look at her colour...look how she carries herself. You carry yourself the same way, but you're a different colour. They are not singling you out because you fit in, that's the bottom line. Subliminally, that's what it is."

Shilpa's harassment in the house is not going unnoticed, as the show has sparked off a major controversy in Britain, with Prime Minister Tony Blair saying racism should be opposed in all its forms when the issue was raised in Parliament. Channel 4 issued a statement saying: "Matters of bullying or racial abuse in any form are taken extremely seriously by Channel 4 and Endemol".

Meanwhile, the good news is that Shilpa is a hot contender for winning the show as even PETA, the animal activist group who Shilpa has lent her support to are encouraging voters to back Shilpa to become the show's next winner.

Hold on and keep your spirits high Shilpa! Help is not far!
