Chashme Buddoor remake in the pipeline!
It's remake/sequel time in Bollywood these days!
Everyone is on a remake spree and the latest one to join the bandwagon is Onir - of My Brother Nikhil fame - who will be adapting the classic movie, Chashme Buddoor, directed by Sai Paranjape, starring Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval, Rakesh Bedi, Ravi Baswani and Saeed Jaffrey.
"Though we have bought over the rights, it won't be a remake, but it will be an adaptation of the earlier film," reveals Onir.
And will he be repeating any of the old star cast?
"No, we will have a new star cast for the new film," he says. Let's hope, it doesn't turn up like Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag!
Here's a quick look on some other remakes/sequels, which are in the pipeline:

@vEENs - Yes Veens Yes!!!!!!
It's raining remakes in B-town!
And in future also, be mentally prepared to read about many more remakes/sequels being planned, in Bollwood.
Take care :)
Dunno when they will come up with something original ... TZP was so refreshingly different ...
Thanks for dropping by ....
@Deepti - TZP is what I term as "cinematical excellence!"
Thank you so much Deepti, for taking time out and visiting my blog :)
Take care, mam!
now hopefully we dont get ravi - 2 ;)
@c e e d y - Don't worry pal, Ravi is not gonna be "re-made' again by anyone except God!
However...on second thoughts...if I ever get married and have a son, I might just call him "Ravi the Second" or Ravi 2" :)
Take care, bro!
i dont think so after OSO horror, the remakes are going to work anymore.....
Wud they ? Especially with old classics being meekly copied without ne sense and a strong script!!!
@Ashu - I know!
I don't support the idea of making a remake.
I mean, why to ruin the magic of original stuff by making a cheap mirror out of it..
Only time would decide, how this "remake-mania" turns out to be!
Thanks for dropping by, Ashu :)
Take care!
